OBP and what you do with RISP are alot more important to a describe a good hitter than Avg and slugging percentages.

Oh, so like getting on base and plating runners? I guess I covered that with the more RBIs. Thanks

We really need to wait longer to say who the best hitter is. It has to be Rhymes up to this point. No one was in his ballpark last year, at or above .500. Can anyone argue with that?

yes, yes we can.

Turner has 7 more AB's than Detz hence more chances for more RBI's. Damn you are stupid.

This isn't about fielding. See title.

True, but Turner has more RBI. So I'd take him.

Plus... Schtate blows taint n balls. So there's that.

And since he is averaging .4 RBIs per AB with 7 less ABs, this means...oh never mind. Point is the "I see your Stuart and raise you a Detz" was not accurate. Your name calling is making me sad

Detz also has almost a 2:1 BB:SO ratio compared to Turner's 1:2 ratio. Seems to me Turner just goes up hacking at the ball.

Turner - 7dbl
Detz - 5dbl

Turner - 2hr
Detz - 0hr

Turner has 3 more RBI's with 7 more AB's congratulations. RBI's are the most overplayed statistic in mainstream baseball. They don't show you how good a hitter really is. If you don't realize that I will cease to believe you can discuss baseball truly.

OBP and RISP are the best stats to judge how good a hitter is. Ask the scouts.

It is just funny to me that Al states "I see your...and raise you" and I do not see much of a raise. I see a lateral move at best.

Hitting was measured by average the last I checked. I also think the fact that Detz gets on base 3 out of every 5 plate appearances is impressive as well. 3 RBI's can be matched at any time.

I agree RBI is overplayed. Most overplayed would be a severe hyperbole. But to say it does not matter when your boy used it in his case is funny to me.

You kicking it with a lot of scouts these days? Or did you perhaps learn a little about sabermetrics and decide you were internet tough guy?

Convenient when his guy is behind in RBI. If Detz were to pass Turner in RBI, we'd hear a different story.

Obviously, you must know an awful lot about baseball, huh?

Sure, give me a sec so I can call up my scout buddies and ask them... DAMN, lost the #. Can you give me the number to some MLB scouts there, hoss? Preciate it.

Oh you want more stats.... Detz averages 1 RBI every 2.35 AB's. The same for Turner. So they are even there. Do the math. If you want simplicity, Detz has a higher average. Detz has more runs scored. Congrats on Turners 4 more extra base hits. Detz with a higher OBP. Turner with a higher slg%. Oh you want fielding. Detz has Turner beat there too.

Y'all are in a full-fledged bitch fight over Detz and Turner, and Detz is the third or fourth best hitter on our team.

Good to see we have found something we can agree on Charger.

Also, by the way since we are in this same thread, did Joniah White who plays at Madison Central transfer from Grenada when Rahim Lockhart took the MC Job? I saw him play yesterday vs Gulfport really liked his game.

Well considering I played my whole life, have a few friends that played Major league ball, I'd come to conclusion I might know a little something.

He did. I have been hearing though that he may transfer back to Grenada for his senior year. Just a rumor I heard from his "cousin".

Maybe we can land him and Dunlap in the class of 2014. Just think how good Grenada would have been with those 2

With the noodle arms they've seen so far, I'd be hitting .350 myself...
