From a fan perspective, UF was fun. They are always so confident that they will beat Auburn, that they dont talk shite to us and welcome us in...before the game. After is another story.
Tenn is great. My one time there, the fans were very nice and I got invited onto a few boats. Tailgating on a boat is unbeatable!
But Ole Miss is the best. Seeing all the tail and the spread of food and the fact that you have to drink hard alcohol and no beer is just funny to me. The only bad part is that you can get lost in the Grove because the tensts are so close together, eerything looks the same...esp. drunk.

quote:I agree 100% w/ everything you said. Georgia's campus looks great, Bama's is bad arse on gameday and Florida's campus on gameday sucks donkey dick.
favorite campus is UGA
favorite atmosphere would have to be Bama
on a side note, Gainesville really let me down...I was expecting alot! Maybe it will be better this year?

Best Gameday Atmosphere
It used to be LSU hands down, before they started the whole "leaving the stadium in the 3rd qtr" thing.
Oh I agree, why there was NO ONE left in the stands at the '08 LSU-Bama OT game in Tiger Stadium. Not a soul. All 93,000 left in the 3rd qtr.

our tailgaiting is a bit different than most of the SEC ive been to...our tailgaiting tends to be spread out all over university avenue and into the student ghetto and down 2nd avenue.. the tailgaiting gets pretty crazy...however, as an opposing fan coming into gainesville, i can see how it would appear to leave something to be desired...now if you were to come to gainesville and stay with a uf student or alumni that has their own tailgate or house in the student ghetto, then you would probably have a great time
i have not been to BR yet..but id be willing to bet that our stadium atmosphere is second to none...its our stadium that makes a trip to gville a must, not the tailgaiting unfortunately...come up on a friday, go out friday to midtown, get crazy, then go out again saturday night and enjoy the women and the nightlife

Auburn at Georgia in 1971. Pat Sullivan's greatest game. Electric atmosphere.

This statement makes no sense. If you havent been to TS then you cant make that assumption

When I visited Gainesville for a game I was impressed with the Florida campus overall, but you are right about the tailgaiting. The drinking policies are a little over the top in regards to issuing tickets for any kind of open container. Most locales will allow you to drink out of a cup and will let people roam freely as long as they are not causing trouble or acting extremely obnoxious. Tuscaloosa was always my favorite atmosphere. Ole Miss also had it's share of positives. Bailed on a trip to Athens last minute so I can't describe UGA. Auburn was average I would say, mainly because the town is so small.

An assumption is a proposition that is taken for granted, as if it were true based upon presupposition without preponderance of the facts.
Therefore, my statement was a statement based upon my confidence in our stadium atmosphere but not based on any factual evidence.

i agree. The Swamp is IMO the second best place to watch a college football game.

Had one hell of a time in Athens during the blackout. UGA folks are a blast!
Ha, I am glad you enjoyed it. I am not a season ticket holder (live 3 hours away), so I ponied up big money just so my young son could be sure to see a blackout. God, what a miserable night.

I think the big difference is that LSU saturday night games are famous. I guarantee you the swamp has just as good an atmosphere if not better if its a day game, but when the sun goes down its a totally different game in tiger stadium. LSU always makes sure the big games are night games I dont understand why Florida doesnt do this as much

I've only been to UF,UT,and Bama. UF was boring unfortunately but I think it's because of the tailgating dilemma as the others posted. Went to Bama in 07, that was such a disappointment. UT was really neat and has a great atmosphere. The stadium is a dump though. Can't wait to make a trip to BR.

I've been to UT, LSU, UF, Bama, KY, Vandy and Arky. Not including UT I had the most fun at Arky.
The best atmosphere of any venue I have been to was Notre Dame.

I parked in a near empty lot, with most of the people standing by their cars. No tents, no grills, nothing. I absolutely believe it's where I parked and not indicative of the whole atmosphere. The stadium experience was great though.
