Until BP wins the sec west, then I would think you would have a hard time saying he is better as a FB coach then Les and Nick.
I never said anything about Nick. Saban is on a different level than both coaches. I would put Saban on Tier 1 and then Miles and Petrino on Tier 2.

Stone..you will have a chance to back up your words this year..If he finishes 3rd again in the west this year then Nick is 1..Les is 2... and BP is clearly behind at 3.

The two are tied against each other right now, you don't get more equal than that. If Petrino wins again this year then we would have to talk about him being better than Miles, not just sharing a tier with him.

Well if that's the standard then Miles and Saban are tied.
I'm not trying to be a dick to you StoneHog, I think you're a good poster, I just feel like you're being a homer right now.

It is indeed very impressive what the Arkansas trio has achieved

Best? I'm not sure.
Which I would rather have? Saban and whoever else is at Bama.

Les and Saban are tied against each other. What does that mean to you?

They're almost equal, but Saban gets the edge because I just think he's better. It's not a bash on Miles putting him on the same tier as Petrino.
But realistically, if a person had to pick a head coach and they got to choose between Miles and Saban, we both know who most people would choose. It's not even close really.
Again, that's no knock on Miles, I think he's a really good coach. Just not on the same level as Saban.

Saban has more hardware. It typically comes down to hardware in these debates.

I think the same could be said about Petrino in regards to Miles

Come on now, you are going to make his head explode

There are a few coaches that have programs who excel in spite of coaching, not because of it. Chizik, Mack, Coker and Miles are all prime examples of this. Miles has done an awesome job of maintaining what was handed to him but nobody would consider him as a choice to build a program. I honestly think Nutt could have won atleast 1 title at LSU. Miles well slip up again, especially after this lack luster class you just signed. As long as the studs decide to go to LSU, Miles should be okay. Enjoy your 9 win season boys.

I know, because some people might put Miles on Tier 3, with Petrino on Tier 2 and Saban on Tier 1 all alone. Like I said, I was being generous to Miles saying they were equals. Most people would say Petrino is the better coach even though Miles has a championship.
I think Peyton Manning was a better college quarterback than Tee Martin, but Tee has more hardware. Same situation as this.

Scoring against Arkansas' defense really isn't much of an accomplishment. Especially if you're playing behind a defense that can keep Arkansas' offense off the field. Let's talk about the performance of Miles' offensive juggernaut against the only elite defense they faced.
So by chance how did Arkys offense do against Bama and LSU?
14 and 10 points and 225 and 254 yards.
Hell our shitty offense got more yards on Bama in the regular season.
So seems to me that Petrino isnt far and away better xs and os then Les yet he cant recruit worth shite. So tell me who is the better coach again?
Saban is the best and Les and Petrino are 2 and 3. Petrino might have a small edge in xs and os but Les is far and away a better recruiter. All you have to do is watch biography of a blue chip (a mini documentary on Jermuria Rascos recruitment) to see the difference.

Go start a thread and ask all non-LSU and Arky fans who they would rather have as a coach. I double dog dare you.
