Bama/LSU matchup has not effected as many NCs as AU/UF the past 3 decades

Have the ones you listed were pretty dubious in terms of how much effect they had on the NC. If you really want to get technical about it the LSU-Bama game has determined the NC 5 of the last 9 years.

Oh and your 83 claim is

Bama/LSU recently is of no more historically significance over the last 3 decades than about 10 different matchups of different teams that played annually that determined NC or NC opportunities multiple times for BOTH teams.

:kige:

Bama/LSU is the current big thing. What makes it significant is the fact that both teams are in the same division.

2001 (Cost UF a NC shot)

UT cost UF a title game shot. The following week LSU cost UT the same. Not that I think it would of mattered. I don't think anyone was beating Miami.

Miami won it that year.

No. We lost to FSU later on anyhow.

1994 (Cost UF a NC title game apperance)

No. The tie with FSU would've done us in anyhow.

2001 (Cost UF a NC shot)

No. The Tennessee loss late in the year did.

2007 (Cost UF a shot at NC instead of LSU)

No. We still lost Georgia and LSU, the former would've won the East.

I'll claim 2004.

In 1993, FSU was better and would have won.

If you think Miami was better than AU or more deserving in 1983, your college football knowledge is laughable.

Miami won it that year.

What is it? Most selectors picked Au AND AU had the better resume. If you want to give it to the lesser team, go ahead. I'll chuckle.

That is why I said maybe. UF would have been playing for a lot more and may have won at home if the NC had been on the line.

I think FL wins that game if they had gone into it with a NC on the line. FL should not have lost it to begin with. Hell it took 28 points in the 4th Q to tie it.

UF may have been selected by the computers to go to the BCSNCG. I forgot they also lost to UGA though, so you're right.

Which is fine. We both know who had the better team and better season. And it is not really even close at all.

Let me ask some Florida fans something. Florida and FSU played twice one year almost to the same effect of Alabama and LSU in 2011. Obviously they were in different conferences but I'm curious to see what was thought of that matchup then compared to the two games with LSU and Bama in 11

We lost 24-21 to them on the road. They got away with dirty late hits on Wuerffel all game long. Caught a break when Texas upset Nebraska in the first Big 12 title game.

I'm not sure, I didn't have the internet back then, but they still complain about it on Rivals.

Only common opponent was UF who AU beat but Miami got BLOWN OUT by.

Da U can suck AU's 1983 dick son.

Miami can continue to claim the AP. They had a good (but not great) year with a huge OB win.
That was the year Nebraska was unbeaten and ranked #1 all year; then got beat in the Orange bowl by Miami. Probably the reason Miami was voted #1 since they beat #1.

Auburn did have more wins over ranked teams than Miami and Nebraska that year.
