George Rogers and Herschel Walker.
Those two would still dominate the league if they were in their prime playing today ... and hell, Herschel might still be able to play even at his age.
Rogers was big and fast and brutal with his approach. I saw him run over a NC State safety one time and split the guy's helmet in-two, then stomp on him on his way to a 64 yd TD leaving the safety twitching in the middle of the field with everyone thinking he was dead.
Herschel and Boo (we called George Rogers "Boo Juice") were two of the most devastating running backs of all time in college, unstoppable.
Herschel could do it all quite honestly.

That would be awesome if only George Rogers had ever played in the SEC. He probably wouldn't have won the heisman if he did.

So Gurley is better than Bo Jackson, Dalton Hilliard, Emmitt Smith, DMac, Kevin Faulk, Knoshon Moreno, Trent Richardson, Mark Ingram... ok, you get the point.

Why do you say that?
You guys weren't in the SEC back then.

Because Herschel was better against better competition. You guys played crap teams back then.

Well no shite, I was asking why he thinks George wouldn't have won the Heisman.

Like hell we did. You're showing your ignorance. In the late 70s/early 80s we played teams like Miami, FSU, ND, Southern Cal, Michigan, LSU, Ole Miss, Georgia, and Clemson. UGA & Clemson we played every year and that was arguably during their best eras.
And listen, no one is gonna say Rogers>Walker but to say he shouldn't/wouldn't have won the Heisman is just laughable.
Rogers: 927 carries, 5091 yards, 5.5 YPC and 1781 yards (6 ypc) his Heisman year.
Walker: 994 carries, 5259 yards, 5.3 YPC and 1891 yards (4.9 ypc) his Heisman year.

The 06 squad wasn't really a duo. It was a tandem.
For RB's on the same team, the correct answer is
McFadden/Jones/Hillis
