not to mention that when you replace your staff the pool of coaches you can hire is much smaller and less qualified than it should be because you aren't going to steal any quality proven assistants.

Anyone in here claiming that limiting pay to keep or getting good assistants isn't harmful to a program, is full of shite.

I don't feel like digging up the link, maybe its already been posted, but Alvarez happens to be one of the highest paid ADs FWIW.
Seems Wisconsin has plenty of money laying around until it comes time to pay assistants.
