You are right. We don’t get it. Why would any school want this bizarre lewd behavior associated with their program? Doesn’t it make you even a little uncomfortable? It makes my skin crawl

it only goes to re-enforced the rule… NEVER trust a man with four names.

“Squeeze, Ags!’’ These yell leaders are—yes, it’s true—squeezing their privates in order to share pain with the team onthe football field. Nobody knows who first came up with this idea, but it’s never caught on with anyone but Aggies.

I did a quick google search on LSU in 1981. It mentioned the hiring of a new AD (Bob Broadhead). His challenges were to stop letting in every moron of the street, raise the unacceptably high failing student rate, and try to make kids actually want to go to LSU to play sports.
Four years later he was bugging offices appearing before a grand jury. The basketball program was being investigated due to the sloppy and obvious paying of illegal benefits to recruits by a loud mouthed, brash coach (Dale Brown).
Fast forward 40 years . . . LSU seems to be stuck in a time warp. I don't see Woodward pleaing out to wiretapping charges though.
But we don't put our balls in a vice.

Imagine the burden of living up to a reputation like that. It isn’t easy, I promise you. We’re somehow expected to behave in uniquely ridiculous ways, totally uncalled-for ways, in absurd and obscene and laughable ways. Texans everywhere are depending on us. It’s a never-ending challenge, a challenge we Aggies are born to meet
You mean like cutting up UT students after losing in 1916? or hooking up your cannons and heading to Waco to shoot the place up? or trapping the Rice band in a locker room after they totally embarrassed you at halftime? or killing Tech’s horse by pouring burnt orange paint on it? or have your pooper scooper throw horse shite on the Longhorn Band? or have one of your dimbassery play army cadets draw a sword on an SMU cheerleader? or have your dumbass play army embarrass the entire state of Texas by squeezing their nuts on national TV?
poor aggies

Nobody can fake being an Aggie. It has to come naturally to you, which is just another way of saying that Aggies are born, not made.
There is another group that describes themselves in this same exact way. They even have their own colorful, some might say “rainbow-like”, flag.

Not sure it can get any odder than this:

These people have a legitimate mental illness
And yet more young people would rather get their education at A&M than any other university in the SEC even though, most of the other SEC schools are much easier to get into.
quote:
As an Aggie myself, I can tell you that the people in the photographs on this and the following pages are all being Aggies. None of them are faking it. Nobody can fake being an Aggie. It has to come naturally to you, which is just another way of saying that Aggies are born, not made. You can develop and strengthen your innate Aggieness, as these cadets are doing. That’s the reason they’re at A&M.
Which doesn’t mean they aren’t looking for a regular college education, too. Nobody ever went to A&M who didn’t already know he needed to get smarter. If you came out of a Texas high school with any pretensions at all, you went someplace else: if you had social pretensions you went to SMU; intellectual pretensions, to Rice; spiritual pretensions, to Baylor; or if you had an arrogant bent in no special direction you went to t.u., the place in Austin with the Day-Glo tower. All these schools are designed to encourage your illusions, to make you believe you’re something you’re not. Aggies have no illusions. We know we’re Aggies, we know we need to go to A&M to develop the fine points of our character, and since a school motto is “Once an Aggie, always an Aggie,” we know what we’re going to be doing for the rest of our lives. Aggies are certain in an uncertain world. And that’s why the uncertain world makes so many Aggie jokes—they’re jealous.
That article is over 40 years old. It has changed somewhat since then. The corps is now coed with men and women in the same companies. They no longer "quad" upperclassmen any more. Times change things.
