The Rose Bowl proved in 2007 that they would rather have a second-tier, 9-3 team from the Big Ten/Pac 12 rather than an at-large team with a better record

I agree, but this year they won't have a choice... There aren't going to be any other BCS-eligible Pac12 teams. It will either be Notre Dame or an SEC team in the Rose Bowl against the Big10 champ. (Notre Dame if Fiesta takes OU and SEC team if the Fiesta takes Notre Dame).

BCS bowl is preferable due to money and prestige, regardless of opponent. OU as an opponent is not overly exciting but the Fiesta Bowl is an attractive venue. The Cotton Bowl versus Texas would not be terribly appealing. I'd rather a Big 10 opponent in the Outback or even Cap One over a Cotton Bowl versus Texas.

I would prefer Fiesta vs OU, but Cotton vs Texas sounds like a pretty appealing consolation prize.

I want LSU in the BCS for prestige, but quite honestly a matchup with Texas is a tad more appealing to me than a matchup with OU.

I respectfully disagree about the Florida bowls... Big10 matchups scream "boring" to me.

For a team that expects to play for nattys, you guys are really making a big deal out of the BCS bowl stuff. You realize it means nothing, right? And I think Jerry World is much better than Univ of Phoenix stadium. You get the same money either way.

Stanford plays Oregon this week.

If Stanford loses, they aren't in the Top14 anymore and are not BCS eligible.

BCS games are bigger...more people watch, more TV coverage, more exposure.

Not to mention LSU fans are salivating at the idea of going somewhere other than Orlando/Dallas/Atlanta/NewOrleans.

I don't think you understand...If Oregon wins out, IT CANNOT BE a pac12 team, by rule, as there will be no other Pac12 teams in the BCS Top14.

No chance in hell if Oregon wins out.

well, that's true, if they have one in the Top14...But it appears extremely unlikely that the Pac12 will have a second team in the Top14 if Oregon wins out.

That's pretty bold. Are you predicting an upset of the Ducks by Stanford?

After losing to Nebraska in 2 Orange Bowls and 2 Sugar Bowls, would love to beat that arse in the Rose Bowl.

I beg to differ. A BCS bowl is huge in my opinion. And while Jerry's palace is a nicer venue, I feel like we've played there too much and opening up next season there doesn't help. Nothing attractive at all about the Cotton Bowl honestly besides playing Texas

Are you serious? A&M has the underdog story that people drool about.

They went to the #1 at their place and came out with the win, has a highly marketable player with a catchy slogan, has 2 top 10 picks, and a match up with OU aka big 12 championship

If what Edwards said is true (and the Fiesta intends to remain true to its Big12 ties and pass on Notre Dame in favor of OU), then the Rose is likely going to be Notre Dame vs Big10.

Of course, when push comes to shove I find it hard to believe the Fiesta would pass on undefeated Notre Dame in favor of a 2-loss OU. I guess we shall see.
