Wat? McCaw said last Monday we are in talks with other P5 schools to schedule for OOC in the future. This year OOC were scheduled when we were desperately trying to get back to 6-6 and a bowl game.
Did you watch the Buffalo game? Briles said on ESPN airwaves he didn't want to schedule tough OOC game that his goal was to win the Big 12.

Mississippi State played Kentucky and Vandy to go along with UAB (allowed 34 points), South Alabama, USM, and UT Martin. Their division mates, Arky, had to play UGA and Mizzou from the other side. Not much resume building for State, although they looked good early.
It's not about who had wins over weak teams, its whether you have enough quality wins to make your case.
Miss. St. beat Auburn, LSU, Arkansas, and A&M.
They also had the opportunity to add Bama and Ole Miss, to that list thanks to their challenging conference schedule. They lost those games, and got left out of the playoff, but the opportunity was there.
Baylor's only two real resume builder games on the schedule were TCU and a maybe a 9-3 Kansas State. The rest of the Big 12 was mediocre at best, and even less than that at worst. Baylor could have scheduled a major OOC game or two to arse opportunities to win big games, but they didn't and it came back to bite them.

Have you seen Ohio State's conference? Indiana over Mizzou is about all I saw this season.
Michigan got killed by an average ND
State lost to a beat up Oregon
Ohio State lost at home to Va Tech
Nebraska had no business beating Mcneese
Very impressed with the way Ohio State was able to dominate with a 3rd QB, just not impressed with the league
Did the Big 12 have any decent OOC wins besides TCU beating Minnesota?

Clearly that's why you scheduled Incarnate Word this year for the 2019 season.
and if I went 1-2 vs. Mike Sherman with the greatest player in my school's history, I'd probably want to STFU.
LOL.
Once again, that was scheduled BEFORE the end of this season. Our AD has said we will re evaluate our future OOC games once we saw how this season played out and how the committee emphasized OOC schedules. I think nearly everyone expects that to change.
This is coming from a school that has just a poor of an OOC schedule as well. Lamar, Rice, SMU, and ULM (a game in which you almost lost) is nothing to brag about.
Not sure what RG3 has anything to do with this conversation.

Yes but I also saw our AD say just last Monday they are in talks with other P5 schools to schedule future non conference games.

Big 12 teams schedule an FCS team, but they only get 3 OOC games because each team at the top gets to play all 3 of the shitty teams at the bottom. Try to keep up, OK?
Don't use Vandy when arguing with RS as an example of weak SEC teams.
Some of the Auburn fans are touchy about their record with the Commodores.

We had the opportunity to chalk up wins against Bama, Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss, Miss St., Mizzou, and South Carolina. We didn't need any big OOC games to make our schedule respectable.
Baylor did.
Hope that helps.

I can understand them being upset, but FSU is undefeated and fell to #3 because of a weak schedule and lackluster wins.
Baylor is a weaker schedule and also has lackluster wins and a loss.
Ohio State is the better team of the 3 final candidates.
Everyone is over it but Baylor.

2015 schedules
Arizona State (Houston): 9-3 in 2014
Nevada: 7-5 in 2014
Ball State: 5-7 in 2014
Western Carolina: FCS
vs.
SMU: 1-11 in 2014
Rice: 7-5 in 2014
Lamar: FCS
Gee, the latter looks familiar. I wonder why that is...

A&M actually has a legit reason for the OOC the last couple of years. A&M had to replace two games on the schedule the last 3 seasons b/c Arky became a conference game and 8 vs 9 conference games from the Big 12 to SEC.
Baylor does not have any legit reason other than they wanted to play as soft as schedule as they could.

Baylor's recipe for disappointment:
1) Play in a weak conference
2) Play in a conference that doesn't have a championship game
3) Schedule weak ooc games
4) Don't win all your games
5) Have your conference commissioner blatantly try to hedge bets with co-champions
6) Melt for 30 years about it

7) Have one of the stupidest traditions in all of sports where your freshman class tramples all over themselves like a bunch of Special Olympics contestants in Pamplona, Spain.

Question for BU & A&M fans:
Who is the better head coach? Sumlin or Briles ?

Get back to me when Sumlin & Briles win a BCS bowl game. In Sumlin's case, get back to me when he wins a conference championship.
