I haven't followed the basevols (didn't even do that when they were good and a childhood best friend was on the team or when his little brother was on it) but I've overheard talk about Serrano from baseball peeps. They seem to think the issue is that he brought in a form of baseball (small ball or something but I could be completely misremembering the name) that did not work in the South and SEC in general but that had worked fantastically for him elsewhere. They've said that to his credit he's changed that style but he waited too long to do it. I think they'll give him at least another year but UT just doesn't care that much about baseball.

Fans are already dedicated to the minor league Smokies over CBB. And why not? Going to a Smokies game is a terrific experience. It's one of the better minor league stadium's in the US and the proximity between the two clubs is so small that it's not a factor so might as well go to a Smokies game.
