GTFO with that BS. He is a good and serviceable safety but an SEC great he is no where near regardless of awards given.

yeah awards are arbitrary. maybe the tm and mo should return theirs since they're pointless.

Look, I'm a fan of Barron. But, that's over the top. His ball skills are average at best. Good size, good speed, and plays on a winning team with a coach known for developing DB's. Hence, All-American.
He'll get drafted, along with every other member of both secondaries playing on Jan. 9th.
Best SEC safeties ever? How many are you putting on the list? Better than Laron Landry? shite, if Janzen Jackson keeps his nose and lungs clean, Barron might be second team this year.

Didn't say they were pointless but great and Barron do not belong in the same sentence. He is a good safety but please keep your Bama player arse kissing in perspective.

>implying your opinion isn't biased as an lsu fan

My opinion is completely unbiased. I believe none of what I hear and only half of what I see. That being said, my eyes tell me he is a good safety period. That is just my opinion and it is completely unbiased.

Barrons pretty good, I think the images that LSU fans have of him are of RR burning and running away from him last year. He was hurt that game, but both these guys are NFL talent, and its just splitting hairs.

i love barron as a safety. reid has more tackles because our lbers are not as good as bamas. Reid is not on barron's level yet, but next year, probably so.

Name another safety that was 1st team All-SEC three years in a row.

eric berry and laron landry even craig steltz were complete ballers.
I don't know where barron fits in.

imo, barron is good, but a lot of times players that aren't flashy or have a lot of "holy shite" moments don't get a lot of credit for being good players.
now is he the best ever? naw. but he's pretty damn good.

I am pretty sure laron landry was as a true freshmen. AA too i think

IMO Barron is better than Reid now.
Reid has a few years left I believe, and I think he will surpass Barron. He could do it next year.

i would also like to add that more then likely, landon collins will be better then both reid and barron.

i really don't know about the awards, i would assume he was on many for several years until he graduated.
He is the best safety imo to wear P&G.

He was. You can google "Laron Landry LSU" and the first link is his bio at LSU.

I don't disagree with that but idk all of LSU's safeties throughout the years.

WR's are consistently faster than sfeties on the average. Safeties have to have at least SOME bulk to them because of their tackling duties whereas WR's like RR are built for speed. That pass was thrown away from Barron. You should be glad. If it was thrown the other way that play may very well have been 6 for the other side with #4 doing the end zone celebration.
