It would be hard for Hootie to take the blame for both of the guns when the stolen gun was found under the drivers seat and Cam was the driver.
I do agree that this will be result in a plea down, but as of now Cam is facing two different charges that result in jail time.
The posession of a stolen firearm carries a minimum 1 year sentence.
Posession of a firearm in conjunction with cds carries a minimum 5 year sentence.

I don't want them to receive any worse treatment than any other defendant, but I damn sure don't want them treated any better because of who they are, and especially since they decided to go out of state. They're not hometown heroes, and deserve no special consideration. They're just a couple of alleged perps, and should be treated no better or worse than any other alleged perp. And I'll be pissed as hell if Saban or anybody else tries to pull strings, and I'll be particularly pissed as hell if the powers that be in Ouachita Parish let them. Saban is already mealymouthing around trying to downplay the seriousness of this. He shouldn't have any influence in this state, but I'd be naive if I didn't recognize that certain people still think his shite don't stink.
Arraignment is June 16, per KNOE. Anybody know who their lawyer is?

Meh, it's getting pleaded down if it isn't dismissed before hand. Question is time frame. Of course if the gun charge gets tossed none of the rest really matters. Will be interesting to see it play out. One thing is for sure...Cam is a dumbass. So close to being a top 10 pick and doing stuff most hoodrats with nothing to lose know better than. He deserves whatever comes his way that's for sure. But know this, if he is eligible Saban will have him playing at some point. He isn't getting kicked off.

The fact that he has a weapon AND drugs is gonna get him prison time.
He isnt playing at Bama this year. He is going to prison. I do not believe he is eligible for drug court as he had the weapon with him which means he could have been violent.
You can't have both at the same time. Period. You can have one or the other separately. One will get you drug court. Both is prison. No exceptions. I'm sorry for your loss but his life is effectively ruined.

Cardell Hayes, the guy that shot Will Smith a few months ago was served 6 months for similar charges.......actually lessor charges.
based on available information a similar sentence should be expected.
quote:
n 2012, he pleaded guilty to a weapons charge and possession of codeine syrup and served six months in prison. In 2014, he pleaded guilty for illegally carrying a firearm and drug paraphernalia and was sentenced to six months’ probation. The matter of his father’s death has surfaced again.
based on available information a similar sentence should be expected.

IDK, Cam's West Monroe affiliation counts for a lot up there. Just because they went to Bama doesn't change that.

Sounds like the amount of weed they had was pretty minimal. Its not like they are getting hit with intent to distribute or anything. By itself,

Which is stupid. If he committed the crimes, Why would anyone want to affiliate with someone who engages is felony behavior?
I imagine everyone on this board wouldn't be able to cash in on hometown affiliation in these circumstances

You are the biggest dumbass I have seen in this thread. The cop smelling weed or anything he thought was weed gives him automatic probable cause, not to even mention the fact that he saw the fricking gun sitting in Hootie's lap.
Tell me how many criminal trials you have attended and let's compare who is the dumbass. I have been to too many to count.
You clearly lack the ability to comprehend simple English and follow conversations beyond a few words. I'm not shocked since the ability to focus beyond 140 characters is lost on today's generation.
The part of my post was in response to a poster that claimed the truth was that the officer told them to leave the park, they replied that they were being hassled because they were black, and the officer then claimed they were trespassing and searched the car. That would be a situation that did not create probable cause and thus an illegal search.
If you were not a complete idiot and had the ability to read beyond 140 characters, you would have discovered that my very next paragraph in the same post from which you quoted said that the poster's depiction of events was highly improbable and that events certainly happened just as the officer described, making the search completely legal.
In short, if you are somehow still reading, you are a either a dumbass or in serious need of a high dose prescription of adderall. I hope you get the medical help you need before you try to tackle tasks more difficult than tying your shoes.

Nick Marshall got a ticket for smoking pot, when it is completely illegal in Geogia. I'm sure if I went back and looked that you were saying at the time that he got special treatment when he shouldn't have right?
No it wasn't a felony, but no ordianry citizen would have been afforded that luxury. Gus also took Dyer at ASU after he had been involved in the robbery scandal at Auburn. That's not to mention that Marshall had alresdy been kicked out of UGA and Cam out of Florida, so get off your imaganary high horse and come back down to reality.

It was a small amount of pot. A misdemeanor. If i recall..

After he was kicked off the football team and out of school....

Neither of which rise to the level of a felony weapon charge along with the possession of drugs.
Take off the fan glasses for a moment.
