I think he's probably just upset about his buddy, has an already developed worldview of the justice system in general and specifically in Louisiana and he is combining those two to vent.

Not wise, but understandable.

Saban will probably put an end to his tweets with the quickness.

Any chance Robinson admitted to taking money from Bama coaches during questioning?

Could lightning strike twice?

Let's use some good ole fashioned Louisiana politics and offer immunity for this crime if he testifies against Bama

I just scanned this thread and didn’t see the Tim Williams tweets. Can someone repost?

Thanks

I don't think you understand, it's a felony to possess firearms and controlled substances together, regardless of the legality of the firearm.

quote:

RS 14:95 — Illegal carrying of weapons

§95. Illegal carrying of weapons

E. If the offender uses, possesses, or has under his immediate control any firearm, or other instrumentality customarily used or intended for probable use as a dangerous weapon, while committing or attempting to commit a crime of violence or while in the possession of or during the sale or distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, the offender shall be fined not more than ten thousand dollars and imprisoned at hard labor for not less than five nor more than ten years without the benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence. Upon a second or subsequent conviction, the offender shall be imprisoned at hard labor for not less than twenty years nor more than thirty years without the benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence.

Just the combination of the guns and illegal drugs is a felony. The stolen gun charge is just another felony.

I don't have the twitter. I'm just going off the assumption that Saban will put a quick end to any tweets or posts from his players about this.

If it's proven he was aware it was stolen when he acquired the weapon, he's going to be convicted of a felony and go to prison.

Just having a gun while possessing weed is a felony.

I saw that.....

I was not aware of that law. It's really not looking good for them.

Chances are 50% that the arresting cop is lsu fan and the illegal gun is his drop piece planted under the seat

I was actually waiting for this, somewhat. I know the girl Hootie was banging and she told him he shouldnt be carrying a gun everywhere. Oh well.

Same for most football programs but I know first hand Drug Testing for football at LSU and UA is a joke

She won't. She's specializes in employment issues.

And could be considered a worse felony if you're just going off of sentences. Cam has been charged with both. I still think jail time is a reach but this isn't just a matter of proving he didn't know the gun was stolen and he's back at practice.

Chances are 99% that the judge doesn't want to see Cam play in Tiger Stadium in November.

Louisiana law doesn't recognize Alabama football amnesty - especially when the player in question is a turncoat.

With the SEC policy against felonies, jail time doesn't matter, does it?

If he's charged with a felony he will be suspended indefinitely until the matter is resolved. If he's convicted he will not be allowed back the roster. If he's acquitted or pleads down he will likely miss the season anyway and then enter the draft.

it could be a setup by some LSU fans. Seriously, good riddance to both, a real shocker if charges hold and they probably will. What a waste of life for Robinson in particular, a sure first or second round draft choice down the drain.

That's a pretty strong cite.

Any idea why they haven't been (or at least not reported to have been) charged under that code section?

Every single report says Jones was charged with two misdemeanors and Robinson's only felony charge it the stolen gun.

If that's the law and they're charged accordingly, they're both fricked.
