Were they not getting a push on running plays? Or bad pass blocking? Or both?
Not trying to flame, just wondering
McCarron handled the pressure well, IMO, but remember, this was Kent State. But the line couldn't even open up a one inch hole for the running backs.
SEC defenses are going to rip 'Bama's line apart if they don't get this issue resolved ASAP.
Go ahead and reserve your tickets to the SECCG.

Actually, I agree. All together, the team played a lot better and more "inspired" when McCarron was behind center. With that being said, I'll still be concerned about the line when SEC play begins.

Maybe it was just some first game jitters shite too. Plus, it is hard to get motivated for someone that you think you are going to beat. We have always had that problem. Could have been partly looking ahead to Penn St. too.

I agree to an extent, but regardless, there's no excuse for the line performing that poorly against Kent State. Perhaps we're overreacting, but only time will tell.

I just read the run down on ESPN about the Penn State game today. Their 3rd down conversion sucked arse and they said that struggled with pass protection.
245 Rushing and 114 passing
Indiana St put up 170 yards on them so at least that is a few bright spots.

Didn't Kent State also give those frickers fits last year?

I read on another board that Kent St had the 10th defense in the nation last year. Granted that was against shitty opponents but still. Let me look up Penn St schedule last year.

I'm thinking Bama wins a close one, and it's close only b/c it's a road game for Bama.
BAMA - 24
P ST - 17

Bama 35 - Penn St 14
Bama gets off to a slow start though. They may even trail for part of the first quarter.

You Bama fans are some of the most fickle I've ever seen.

Is this game in Happy Valley? If so that can't help the QB situation for Bama. Might be a close game, close meaning less than 2 Tds.

Yeah, it's at Penn St.

Agreed. They kicked arse and Saban was treating the game as a scrimmage/practice session to experiment.

Bama 27 Penn State 13
For those interested, the last time Bama played up there it went down to the wire. BAMA 17 PSU 16
Bama blocked a field goal with only a few seconds left.

Penn St shocks the country with a narrow win over the Tide. Happy Valley overwhelms McCarron/Sims and wills the pussy lions.

I think it'll be about 28-7 Bama. Sims won't play and get the chance to suck arse, so I don't see too many problems in store for us. The D should have a field day with Penn State.
