And we have to rebound like our lives depend on it. Giving a good shooting team, like Creighton, multiple shots on a possession will ultimately be our demise if we don't.

While I'm sure they're a fine shooting team,I can guarantee you that they haven't played a defense as good as ours...

It seems to me like he prefers to play facing the hoop. He doesn't exactly move people out of his way under the goal.

i dont think so. i think he's very comfortable taking that 15 footer, but he's an inside player. the problem is that entire defenses collapse around him and he cant move all of them out of his way without getting a foul or getting stripped. but if its one on one or the help defense is a little late, he does work down low. he's got to mix it up though if we're gonna win. Green might be our best and most confident shooter from within the arc.

plus i like when he shoots because it gives me a chance to scream GREEEEN!!!........MONEY!!!

San Diego State is a 6 seed and Creighton fans say that is the most athletic team they played. they won, but they say it wasnt pretty and were down most of the game.

There’s nothing mid-major about Creighton’s Doug McDermott. The 6-7 sophomore is a first-team All-American and the nation’s third-leading scorer averaging 23.3 points a game. He can shoot from the perimeter and bang in the paint. So the coaches’ son is pretty much a match-up nightmare.

Alabama forward JaMychal Green will draw that assignment, he said, when he’s in the game. Green is “ready for the challenge,” the team’s only senior said Tuesday afternoon. And how does he plan on doing that? “Just play smart,” Green said. “He likes to pump fake and try to draw fouls. So I’m just going to have to not try to block shots and just stay on the floor and play smart.” Read much more on McD

man i hope, just this once, that jamychal can stay out of foul trouble. but im pretty sure when jamychal was born he got called for two fouls before the nurse could even hand him back to his mother.

Wouldn't it almost be worth it to start Steele or someone that can bang on him for a bit in the 1st half?

Let him have his two's, don't double-down and keep him away from the basket.

hell yeah we'll put tony mitchell on him

oh wait. shite. plan B.

what the frick is plan B?

If we put Green on him, we've got to put somebody on their Center. Jacobs is the likely choice, i assume.

If we put somebody else on him, we can leave Green down low on the Center. But who do we put on McDermott? Steele is probably the most likely because he is the strongest. I think Randolph can give him problems on the perimeter. I'd like to see Cooper get the start and have him on McDermott and really get him involved, but i dont think that will happen. I think we are fricked if Jamychal gets in foul trouble. We need Releford to drive in and get Creightons big guy in foul trouble early.

McDermott spends most of his time in the post. Whenever he goes out to the perimeter though it'll be trouble for Green. They'll attack him early and try to get him in foul trouble

I pray he plays the smartest game of his life. McDermott is a savvy player and will attempt to draw fouls on the inside. Not to mention the huge advantage he will have on the perimeter while putting the ball on the floor.

I really don't think you guys will have too much trouble with Creighton. I would be concerned meeting them further down the road if they gained confidence but I just don't see Bama losing to them.

Will McDermott guard Green on the other end? We could just as easily get him in foul trouble on the other end.

Or JaMychal can do his patented cheap shot and knock McDermott out early...

I'd assume their big center would. He's their best post defender.

McDermott is not a good defender at all

Echenique will I think. With McDermott taking Jacobs. Jacobs is good offensively but doesn't have the game that draws fouls and is not physical. On the other end Echenique will probably abuse Jaccobs on the offensive boards.
