But you do know McElwain came from the WAC, and has worked with Ault in the past, right?

Well I understand he is annoyed with the Bama threads. If I were him I probably would be too. But he acts like ALL Alabama fans are bad...when we aren't.

When I mentioned the top 25, I meant finish there. I don't care where you start off, these polls before October are for the most part not very good at defining what kind of team you have.
Maybe you'll have a top ten team.....it's there for the taking. Good luck when Bama comes to town, you are going to need it by the ton and you already know it.

Cool. That was the main problem last year right?
Offensively, we started a true freshman at LT and that caused us some major issues from a protection standpoint. Petrino's passing O also requires that RB to be stud blockers and we didn't really have any backs prepared to handle the rush. Our most experienced back was Mike Smith and he didn't really stand a chance at 5'7 175. Our other backs, other than Dennis Johnson, were all first year in the system guys. Our running game was pretty abysmal, which had as big an effect on Mallett than anything else...
Defensively, we were pretty soft and you saw that in the Richardson TD run. Guys were bouncing off him in the backfield without much effort from TR. We pretty much held Ingram in check up the middle, but if something got outside we were not fast enough or strong enough to bring down guys in open space. Our secondary was just weak and especially at the FS spot, as yo saw from the trick play to Julio in the first half and the play to Maze after we made it a 7 point game in the 3rd quarter.
We return a ton of experience and I dout anybody outside upper-classman will start/play in the game in 2010, something we haven't been able to say since 2007.
We've upgraded our staff on both the OL and DL and these guys have brought more toughness and physicality to the big uglies we have. We actually have great size in the trenches and now its time to show out...
I don't know that I can predict a win this year, but with a home game and 10 returning starters on O, I think it will be a game way different than what we've seen the last 2 years against Bama

I guess after going 26-2 the last two years. Winning a national title. Signing three straight top five classes, and having arguably the best coach and staff in the country we should just shut up and be satisfied, and concede the West to Arkansas and LSU. Hell, I think we've handled the success better than some fansbases would. Considering how much smack some Hog fans talk, after going 13-12 the last two years, I can't imagine them having actual success.

What is your goal here? Just curious

I'm actually worried about Arkansas this year. I was worried about them last year too. I don't think they will put 38 on us like HawgAlude was talking about(I think we have only had 38 or more put on us like 3 times in the past decade), but I do think they could beat us

Arkansas could win, but why someone would predict something like that is beyond me. Any time you go on the road there's a good chance for the home team. But considering Alabama hasn't lost a regualar season game in two years, I like our chances.

I do not see us getting 38 either unless Alabama totally implodes and I am sure the mismatches will be evident early on as Saban finds them quick and makes teams pay. It will take a lot of luck on that Saturday afternoon if we are to beat the Alabama Crimson Tide -- It is only 1 of 2 games that you all could possibly lose.

Arkansas beating 'Bama in 2010 would definitely be an upset. But I don't think you will see anything close to the same offense from Arkansas as you did last year. Mallett and the receivers were completely different animals at home. Every single game that featured bad throws and a high frequency of drops was on the road. Those road games were also against elite defenses, so I realize that had a lot to do with it. But you can't ignore how much better that EXTREMELY young team played at home (which is to be expected, imo).
Defensively I think Arkansas did a great job against Bama in 2009 for 90% of the game. It was just the "freak" plays that broke our back (TR run, trick play, Maze TD). Is it possible that Bama will have those same kinds of results on similar plays? Sure. Is it PROBABLE? I like to think not.

Past success does not determine future success. Virtually all of the secondary that got into our receiver's heads early are gone. The new guys are at least as talented, but far less experienced and just shouldn't be expected to impose their will in their very first road start. Now, your pass rush will still be intimidating, but hopefully some solidification our O-line seems to have had along with an improved run game will help that.
Honestly my biggest worry is the one-on-one matchup with Dareus and Dominguez. If Ray "false start" Dominguez can win that battle for the most part or by the time the game starts Greg Oden's potential starts showing up on the field then I like our chances. If your DE kills our weak side tackle repeatedly, well...it could be bad in a hurry.

Take a look at last year's home schedule.

90% success led to 35-7 defeat. I would hated to see Arkansas play bad against Alabama then.

2010 had long been the year many were looking forward to. Judging by the talent on display at A-Day, I don't have any doubts Alabama can make another run.

Then why are LSU fans jumping off bridges over the way LSU QBs played two weeks ago?
While it is a scrimmage, the talent is obvious. Regardless, the young secondary, and defense in general, has looked good all spring. Otherwise, Saban would be pissed off in all his PCs.

Which proves nothing. It's coincidental. Just like playing on the road also happened to coincide with playing better defenses. It's impossible to know if it was the better defenses, being on the road, or a combination of both.

And I would hate to see Arkansas play WELL offensively and Bama not get lucky as shite 3 times for long TD's.
