You are 100% correct and there needs to some criteria laid out about OOC and/or clear tiers for sos. Why do we tier W-L but not sos?

It’s madness. Texas ELO is top 7 but we are penalized significantly more for losses to 1 and 3 and Florida than what we gain from beating 3 top 14 teams.

Meanwhile notre dame skirts by with winning 1 top 20 game to usc and then plays no one else while losing their only 2 real tests (one at home)

Instead you scheduled nobodies and your big p4 team was Baylor lol.

F off auburn we played Mich last year and osu this year both at their houses.

We tried to schedule blue bloods, you scheduled nobodies.

Osu is 140-14 at home the past 20 years with most of those losses in a rivalry game to Mich.

I think that all P4 teams should have AT LEAST 2 P4 conference crossover OOC games.

There is a legitimate shade to throw at SOS that it isnt accurate because we dont have enough cross conference reference points. Thats an easy fix.

Even with the 49 SOS we were 11-1 last year and missed a bye which is a better SOS than tech and right around Ohio state this year I think. Point is at 11-1 last year we were in regardless, don’t like the system it should be more about sos

Yeah. I think that was one reason they changed to the top 4 teams regardless of conference gets a bye. Texas had a really good team last year, and deserved a bye.

100% agree. Until the playoff committee puts it in writing and sticks to it nothing will change.

Their principles are head to head and a sos yet they clearly don’t factor or weigh those as much as w-l

Make teams schedule 2 p4 and at least we have more data points

Having Clemson and zona st back to back was a bye

Sec just needs to go and import some terrible teams like the big 10 did so you can manipulate the schedules of your contenders so they don't play more than 1 game a season they could possibly lose

I mean, were they or should they have been easy wins? Probably. But quite often bad injuries happen against easier opponents. If you take your opponent lightly you tend to let you guard down and the probability of injury goes up. Nothing is a bye except a bye.

Ehh I’d rather be Texas hosting Clemson then neutral siting zona st, vs oregon(royally screwed last year) getting a bye thrn having osu come and kick your teeth in.
