So, everyone who doesn't think Bama should or will get in, there's easy money for you to make.
Current odds to make the CFP on ESPN BET:
Bama: -200
USCe: +500 (
)
Miami: +600
Ole MIss: +2500

Of course it is. Because Vegas casinos clearly love to just give money away.
SC is +500.

I have zero problems with folks ranking South Caroline or Ole Miss over Bama at this point of season...but it doesnt change that Bama has the best collection of wins

1. S. Carolina- no bad losses. No losses in November. Most consistent right now.
2. Alabama- One horrendous loss. One bad loss. One great win from two plus months back that they almost blew. One really good win from almost two months back that they almost blew. Horrendous blowout loss was two weeks ago. (That matters)
3. Ole Miss- Great blowout win and good blowout win, but one horrendous loss at home. One bad loss on the road. One okay loss to an above average but not a very good team. You can't lose to three unranked teams and say you belong.
4. Miami.
The committee values not losing over winning big games, or at least have to this point. Bad losses are a heavier thing to overcome than not having good wins.
Will they reverse course at the end? Maybe, but we'll see.
Syracuse is 9-3 and Tech is 7-5. Both of those teams are aguably better than OU and Miami didn't get blown out by either of them.
What we think doesn't really matter.

yes USC lost HTH but it was still against top 15 teams. Bama lost to VANDY and Ok, two unranked teams. No comparison who deserves it more.

How can anyone rank SC in front of OM? 24 point head to head win on the road means nothing? Why? How?
Because!!!!!

Well shite, if almost blowing games makes them not count do we really want to jump into the 2024 UGA experience?

I don't even know what game this is talking about. I assume LSU, but almost 2 months ago would put it in early October? I guess South Carolina? We also beat Missouri by 34 and LSU on the road by 30 within the last 6 weeks, but those continue to somehow get completely ignored in the conversation while a last second drive to beat Missouri 4 weeks ago also is apparently a sign of a hot team playing well

How can idiots have SC over Ole Miss AND Bama after they lost both matchups head to head? Y'all smoking that good ish

There isn’t a hotter team than South Carolina at the moment.
Second half of season:
1. USC: 6-0 (3-0 vs top 25)
2. Alabama: 4-2 (1-1 vs top 25)
3. Mississippi: 4-2 (1-0 vs top 25)
4. Miami: 4-2 (0-1 vs top 25)

There’s a distinct chance that ALL of those wins against the “top 25” for South Carolina will drop out by the end of the season. A&M is 8-4. Mizzou should’ve dropped out after they lost to SC but didn’t even drop at all in the rankings. Clemson rose 5 spots after beating the Citadel to give SC its “top 15” win. A lot of this hot streak narrative is a mirage.

USC: 0-2 against Bama and Ole Miss
Bama: 1-0 against USC
Ole Miss: 1-0 against USC

Maybe so, but it’s still the case right now.
It’s better to beat ranked teams that finish unranked than to lose to unranked teams that finish unranked, which Bama and Ole Miss have both made a habit of this season.

I agree, and for that reason, we should be fighting over the Vegas Bowl, not the playoff.
