First, A&M does not have the depth to hold Bama's offense in check all night. The Dline will be worn out by the 2nd half and Bama will be able to run at will. They will also be able to keep the D honest with a very reliable passing game. The ags DB's, mainly safties are a weakness and Bama will expose that weakness.

Second, A&M does not have the backs to make Bama have to stay in the box and fear the run. The only way to beat Bama is with a dose of their own medicine. You must be able to pound the ball in between the tackles and convert passes on third and long. I just dont think that A&M has the power up front or in the backfield to do that. The scheme is too spread out. Bama is too fast to think JFF can just run around like Cam Newton and own that D. Will not happen and the Tide will roll.

FWIW, I think A&M will be a juggernaut in 2 years. They are playing very well and recruiting will go through the roof. Its just not quite your time. Soon though, very soon.

We do, they're just not eligible this season. (Brandon Williams, Tra Carson)

They're a much better team. You could've saved a lot of keystrokes.

Valid points and definitely possible...but, I think there is a chance A&M can win.

Guess 2 First Round Tackles (Both Juniors) and the SEC's leading rushing offense and rusher (JFF) means nothing.

It's not just the backs, it's the OLine. It's the combination of LSU's line AND Jeremy Hill (didn't realize what we lost when he chose LSU over us).

As you said - you beat Bama by giving us our own medicine...not by spreading the field with 5 wideouts. Bama's secondary bench is not our weakness.

Our RBs are much better than people think. There's three that share the load so there isn't one that has great stats, but all three are good players.

Well, A&M did rush for over 350 the last 2 weeks but maybe we can do better?

Your running backs are very good and JFF can run with the best of them. Im not saying A&M isnt a good team. They are just not the kind of backs that will be able to do much against Bama. Its their scheme against your scheme and they are built to make spread teams look terrible. You guys have racked up tons of yards but you are not facing MOO ST. I could be wrong and you guys may take it to them, but I would not hold my breath. Its the difference between the SEC and all the others. There is only one recipe to beating a top SEC team and its not spreading them out.

If KK will give the ball to Trey Williams, Ben Malena and Christine Michaels more, which he has been lately, then I think we do have the necessary running backs.

Bama wins by 20

Why because this is an elite SEC defense and they will kick JFF's arse.

Explain what LSU's defense is then?

First, I think Bama is the best team in College Football.

That out of the way, what? I just saw a terrible QB that probably wouldn't start for some high schools shred Bama's secondary. Maybe it was a bad game, I don't know, but I was fairly shocked. I think we'll be able to get plenty of passing yards of Bama. The question is: Can we get those and not turn it over. I'm not sure JFF is yet to that level, but he's getting closer each game. We'll see.

It could be argued that part of the reason they stuck around in the game is because Bama would not pound the rock more. Their backs averaged somewhere around 6ypc all night.

Bama kept trying to get AJ untracked and it really hurt them IMO. I say that & he'd only attempted 7 passes in the 2nd half before the final drive. So its not like they were constantly throwing.

The real question for me is how does Lacy feel. Because Yeldon may need to be the bellcow. On one hand that's great because he's a talented back. On the other hand its not-so-good because he's not going to be as fresh in the 2nd half.

In reality though, LSU burned the hell out of the A&M Secondary and I think Bama will get to take some shots downfield because of that. They have Damontre Conner to generate some push but that's it. LSU had the best DE tandem in America and they didn't.
