Here's the offenses Bama has faced since A&M: #44 #25 Sun Belt #112 #90 #85
You can use similar offensive ranks of opponents for every solid defensive team in the country. Part of the reason for their low offensive ranking is having played against Bama. Case in point, Ole Miss. Bama shut them out, yet they managed to average 25 points per game against Auburn and LSU.
Bama's D has held their 8 opponents a collective 114 points below their average against opponents outside of Bama (an average of 14.25 points per game below their average). This is the real measure of the Bama D. They hold opponents - every one of them including TAMU - below their average.
LSU's D has held their 9 opponents a collective 49 points below their average against opponents outside of LSU (an average of 5.4 points per game below their average).
Bama's D and LSU's D have both played 3 teams ranked 94th or below on offense. Remove the 3 worst offensive opponents for each team from the equation and the average offensive rank of Bama's opponents is 41. Average offensive rank of LSU's is 48.

All of this to compare Bama's defense to LSU's? Dude, everyone that's watched LSU play knows the defense is garbage this year.

No. All of that to give you a frame of reference you can relate to - your own team. It's easy to say that Bama's D is over-rated until you put context around their defensive performances.

Agreed, but LSU has the defensive talent to turn it around at any point if it starts to "click" with some of the younger players.

We will find out on 11/9 if they are better this year than last....they haven't played anyone with a pulse besides A&M.

First off, OM always plays like shite for Bama and always plays LSU well. You also had OM at home and had the luxury of knowing every play that was coming on O since Saban was smart and cheated.....Saban won't have that luxury with Cam and Co.

Stop scoreboard watching. Mett gave them 7. Beckham gave them 3. The defense gave up 6pts.
eta: And we know our defense is shite this year.
Damn son..slow down with the excuses. I understand LSU is the only team that can have excuses but you need to slow it down.

They played all of two offenses in the top 40. They aren't as good as last year.

Well shite, I guess that decides it. Let's pack it up boys. We aren't as good as last year.

While lsu's defense isn't as good as usual they are still #4 in the sec in total defense.

If OSU was better than Bama, why on Earth would LSU wanna play them?

We learned how to beat ourselves from Saban.

It's awesome to know that the only that can beat you is the one you practice against everyday.
