Why all the down votes for the OP? One of the better posts on the day. Keep the spazzing out and trolling for the troll threads. This was just an interesting stat and the OP's opinion thrown in.

Let's see. Harris has 2/3 of the yards in a little more than half the throws, and has 9 TDs to Dobbs' 11. Looks like quality over quantity to me.

Meh. They're right up there but there isn't a 2012 Bama line in CFB this year. While they may be the best in college football, that isn't saying a whole lot this year. Again, good line, I think they lose the battle against the Bama Dline though. The Bama defensive line is comprised of better football players
From top to bottom.. absolutely true. Although LSUs pass blocking has been pretty exceptional. Alabama has a really really good defense.
Reverse the scenario though.. doesn't LSU have the same advantage against the Bama offense?

would just argue that LSU has the more efficient passing game.
Wouldn't be a bad argument. I think it's predicated/reliant on the running game though. I have doubts that the passing game can be efficient/prolific if they have to play from behind and/or the running game is slowed down like it hasn't been yet
Just an opinion at this point because there's no examples at this point

LF rushes 24 times for 82 yds and LSU wins 24-17. Saban gets to still say his D has given up 100 yards to only 11 players.

said it was a much bigger part of the offense, which the numbers show.
No its doesn't.
LSU's top 2 wrs have more yards yards and tds than Tenn top 2 wrs AND THEY HAVE PLAYED AN ENTIRE EXTRA GAME.

I'd say the same thing about Bamas pass defense, for example. It's a team game overall

Fun stats:
Alabama is #1 (LSU is #2) in Long Rushing Plays Allowed.
Alabama is #56 in Long rushing Plays. LSU #8
Alabama is 112th in 3rd down conversions
Alabama is 17th in Opponents 3rd down conversions and 5th in Opponents 1st downs/game.

Depends on whether or not the Jekyll or Hyde offensive line shows up for Alabama. Man for man they can match up with any offensive line in the talent department. When they're good, they are really really good. When they're bad, they're really bad. This can vary from play-to-play. I think that matchup is going to be give and take

Alabama is giving up ~8 TFL per game #115 in the country. Lots of negative plays for you guys. Seems that you guys are better at pass blocking than run blocking for sure. #39 in sacks allowed.

10+ yards. Alabama has given up less rushes greater than 10 yards but less than 20 than LSU. LSU has given up less 20+ yard rushes but less 10-20 yard rushes.
LSUs biggest weakness, and it's quite obvious, is the long passing game. #123 in the country in long passes allowed. We've allowed 7 passes of 50-60 yards this season. Most of them were bombs and busted coverage. We're also the worst team in the country at allowing long punt returns.. which realistically could lose the game for LSU this saturday.

Wait! Are we talking about the same bama line that rushed for 103 yards against western kentucky,125 yard against Ole miss, and 122 yards against texas a&m?
That bama oline may have had nfl talent on it but it didn't run over everyone like this lsu offense line is doing.

You cited only the full season statistics, which, on top of being an incomplete picture of a quarterback's ability, also values the first game as much as the most recent.

Do you have a better method?
Eta: are you saying teams always improve consistently?

Yeah, actually watching the games and not relying only on numbers.
