That's hilarious. I had a good friend of mine go on a mission trip to South America this past summer. There were Oregon "National Champions" shirts everywhere he said.

I've received "Roll Tide"s from people all over the country.
California, Washington state, Texas, New York City, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan.
I have been in South FL for 5 years. I have seen less than 10 bama fans in 5 years (4 at one time in a bar called Bru's Room in Delray Beach for the 2007 IB). I have seen (estimated) between 40-50 AU fans during my time here. At the gym, at starbucks, at sports bars, etc.
I also live in Atlanta for years and AU fans outnumber gumps massively there as well.
Hence my theory that many more AU grads leave the state than bama fans.
And yes, bama is a regional fan base only. The rest of the country does not really care.

It seems to me that the only way to assuage the pressure and to achieve a modicum of normalcy in your world of impossibly high expectations is to go out and poison a few trees that are important to a rival school. I agree that 'Bama has gotten a lot of heat through the decades for winning.
That alone, however, can't account for the sheer amount of poison which is routinely spat upon us on the Internet. The SECr is often a good example of this. A piece of the puzzle is missing.
I sat in my laboratory and crunched the numbers, considering all possible variables and the results were astounding, I tell you!
The number one reason our rivals on the Internet hate us so badly is...
