So your happiness depends on if your college football team is winning? That's cool.

Learn from those with experience in what? How I don't want to live my life? My team loses and I'm upset for a few hours that night or day and I am fine the next day. The worst loss for me had to be when the Saints got beat in Minnesota this year. I was upset for a couple of days then didn't really think about it.

You do realize that whether you're barely affected or greatly affected doesn't make you any better or worse as a person right?

Really don’t care how “the kids” name is spelled.
It won’t look good for Bama to continue to cover up for this type of behavior.

How the Frick does Reuben pulling a dumbass stunt like this look bad for Bama jackass? There's countless Bama guys that are representing the university well. Tell Beckham to stop snorting coke before u cast stones

Yawn.

Frankly bama football is boring 95% of the time. I used to watch most bama games. Yeah, I pulled for the other team but if bama won I didn't really care, I was entertained. Could look forward to a competitive game that was entertaining, etc.

The past 6-7 years I watch 1-2 bama games a year. Just not interesting or entertaining so it's not really worth paying attention to. Everyone knows bama pays the most for their players and have the most talent and are going to win every game but 1 or 2 each year by 20.

So, that's great and all I guess, but also boring and not interesting. I know AU is going to blow out a lot of weak teams each year and I watch but I'm not excited for the AU cupcake games. But I get a half dozen or so AU games a year I'm really pumped to watch, so I'm happy with that. It is all about being entertained and excited anyway.

So you're actually insinuating that you enjoy watching your team more when they're not as good because there are more competitive games. Given that premise, you don't want Auburn to be an elite, dominant team then....man, please.

I imagine some Alabama fans are going through the same thing Atlanta Braves fans went through in the 90's. Winning 13 straight division titles we began to think it was easy and would continue indefinitely.

When a fan base reaches that point it points out how incredible a streak has become, but it makes it really tough when it ends.

an excellent analogy! It hurt to see the braves go downhill after all those years..especially for the older guys left on the team.

I think when we all look back on what Alabama is accomplishing right now it will become more clear just how special it is. To keep that tough mental makeup and win year after year is really, really tough. Saban is the GOAT, easily, imo. He keeps himself, his asst. coaches and players focused on on the task at hand and keeps complacency away.

Truth be told... Bama fans really just wanna beat every team we play by at least 30 pts.. not give up a single touchdown and go 15-0 for 4 straight seasons... Yeah we know how special this run is and we're not tired of it at all, don't get it twisted. Roll Tide!!

You're not wrong. Ask Florida fans about that during the Spurrier years

You're right, and I find the complacency aspect of it all the most interesting. His mantra of "dumbing down" the players' mindset to thinking about NOTHING else but beating your man on the NEXT play is simply the perfect approach (no outside concerns to take away from the mission). His relationship with his coaches seem to take take on a similar approach. He works the hell out of them, holds them responsible for the performance of their job, and grades them severely on the outcome (I've never heard a coach say working for CNS was a pleasure ). Lastly, and possibly the hardest, imo, would be in disciplining himself. The old saying that once you become satisfied, you've then reached your pinnacle of success. It'd be terribly hard to not let off the gas just a little with all the success he's had, and all the hard work he's put in...... I guess there are some folks who just don't have an "OFF" button.

Yeah but the Braves couldn't finish... I equate the Braves more closely to the Bills... lots of wins bu neither could close it out... This isn't the 1st time Bama has been on a run..

Bama is simply the King of College football.. now and throughout history and even after Saban is gone... we may drop just a tad but what we have here now is a live factory. It's like when Ford first implemented the assembly line.. no one could keep up for a while.

I think that fans of other teams are tired of bama backing into playoff and championship games and getting second chances. Thats about it

Sooner or later it happens to every championship caliber program, none are exempt. LSU going to Omaha every year in the 90's and winning 5 of 9 Natty's is no different. Now if we don't win 50 games a year and host/host/Omaha and win it's a lost season. Bertman left, someday Saban will too. Can't blame the man for wanting to make 20MM a year can you?

You are right about every program has down periods but Alabama's tend to not be very long. Coach Saban will leave Alabama eventually, but it will be to retire and it may not happen for another 10 years.....
