So, what is your point? Kirby would have been better served taking the UT job?

No. Tennessee is in the middle of the desert with no rescue for them in sight.

Texas is the logical step.

Absolutely. If it were me, UT is much better job.

I don't know about logical. I seriously doubt Texas will make that offer. We will likely find out though as I don't expect Mack to be there long.

I still maintain Kirby will not get an offer as good as the AU one where ever he goes next. Time will tell.

I think Kirby's being really picky about what his first head coaching job is going to be. Keep this in mind. Oklahoma was the first head coaching job for Bob Stoops. Florida was the first HC job for Will Muschamp. Kirby's a more accomplished DC than both of them when they took those jobs. He's waiting for a big fish like Georgia or even a VT or Clemson-type job to open up and then he'll make the jump.

Curious, do your sources say KS was Auburn's first choice?

Saban and his disciples are all the rage right now. With the exception of Derek Dooley, they all did a pretty good job this year. Jimbo Fisher won the ACC as well as the Orange Bowl while Will Muschamp took his team to a BCS bowl.

Kirby Smart is an excellent recruiter who is described as having the same personality and work ethic as Saban. He is without a doubt the best assistant coach in college football right now. He'll be getting the head job at a big name program before too long.

Ok, that is your opinion so that's fine.

I would like to note however that AU is the only SEC team not named bama to pull in 3 straight top 10 recruiting classes. And AU and Bama have both actually pulled in 4. AU has everything needed to win and win big. Every coach to coach at AU has had success and won more than at any other stop in their career. Also, AU has been more successful than UT for a while now. Decades.

No one really knows. He was over Gus it appears.

Personally, I wanted Petrino and did not want Kirby or Gus. I thought it was a huge failure and could not believe we offered either. I'm warming up to Gus though of course.

I agree with all of this. However the Texas job is #1 in college football. I just do not think they will offer Kirby, but I am not saying it is not possible.

Like wanting full disclosure on AU and the NCAA? I'm sure Malzahn would have asked for the same but he already knew the answer.

Doesn't matter, we sure had our down years. UT's upside is greater than AU's. AU is a great job, KS is waiting on tier one job.

That was an insult to AU in all honesty and a dumb request. Kirby bought what he was selling recruits that AU may actually have been in trouble from the Memphis stuff. Something that has already been shown to be nothing.

Instead of saying WTF, how about adding your opinion of what is then?

Florida is a solid #2 and they hired Will Muschamp, a defensive coordinator with no head coaching experience.

Come on bro. That's like you telling a lie about a competitor and then asking that competitor if it's true when you go into business with them. At this point Alabama doesn't have to negative recruit. They just point at the crystal balls and NFL draft picks.

Well, you should keep it to yourself.

And next time, try adding something of substance to a thread instead of trying to continue a flame fest when a thread is improving.

But, since we are giving opinions, you suck as an admin IMO.

You are lecturing me on flame fests? That is rich. Rich, I say.

Your opinion means nothing around these parts. You are a chronically butthurt, flaming homer.
