Cause we're the ones winning by enough to be able to do it. It's hard to do the chant when the game is still in doubt.

And Monday night should absolutely be a display of that conference pride. Not to outdo the respective fandom of course, but those that like to pretend that there is any other conference that week in and week out demands the best your team has, needs to hear that loud and clear.

Then y'all can frick off and join the AAC or something. True Southerners and SEC fans aren't ashamed of the rednecks. Rednecks are a part of our culture and who we are. True Southerners can be ashamed of the stupid rednecks, but people should be ashamed of stupid fans no matter what demographic said fans belong to.

They are healthy and determined. They would have made for a helluva game with Clemson.

I think it is chanted mainly to piss off fans of other teams not in the SEC. The talking heads can't figure it out, I heard them talking about it today on Sirius. I also think a lot of SEC folks understand the disdain directed to the conference by outsiders. Believe me, they hold us all in contempt, don't think you escape it.
We've been belittled and meligned in the south since then, and it's obviously a perpetual thing.
