I think I read the other day that Lacy was making great progress, and can now spell his first and last name correctly.

Way to add something constructive to a, so far, relatively troll free thread.

I had a class with him, and he isn't as dumb as you think. He just does not really give a shite about school, seemingly.

Watching this replay of the NC game, in the 3rd quarter and he's just running right over LSU. I assume with Richardson gone, he's the new HB, so my question is how is he looking right now during the spring? Do y'all think he'll be at the level of an Ingram or Richardson? Any funny stories or nicknames we should know about before the season starts?

I'm no gump but here is my take on Lacy. I watched him play here locally near my home at Dutchtown many games. Dude is a hell of a player and has a great spin move but in no way shape or form is he like Richardson or Ingram. FWIW I think Richardson was and is way better than Ingram. I'm glad those two are history at Bama. JMO

We don't need a Heisman contender in the backfield. Give me a Derrick Lassic or a Glen Coffee type player at RB and we'll still win football games. And if that O-line is as good as advertised there should be plenty of holes for Lacy to run through.

Agreed. LSU has done pretty well with playing RB by committee. You don't need a star at RB to win championships. You do need a really good O-line, capable QB, and stout front 7 on D and Bama has all that in spades.

Hey now, it's ok to admit that a lot of football players are dumb

Like in Mo Claiborne's case

That was all he did at Dutchtown. Glad he's sticking to his roots and representing the Boot along with LC.

Watched him run for four years at dtown so I am somewhat a "homer" as far as that goes. He was never challenged in highschool. He ran for about 1800 yds his junior year splitting series with York and with the defenses loading the box knowing he was getting the ball. And if you remember that was some pretty tough teams from down da bayou. I wish him well this season. I saw him at an LSU baseball game a few weeks ago and talked to him. He is not a dumb kid, just never put emphasis on school. Go figure. But the real diamond in the rough is York, watch him this season at Utah, he is a workhorse
