i agree. there is a lot of misplaced anger about the "rematch" and hopefully it will lead to a plus one.

thanks, nate

To be fair we are all assuming the Big 12 is actually good.

Wait till after the bowl season to pass judgment on who OSU and Alabama have played.

But the judgement is already made for the SEC?

No wonder the rest of the country hates SEC fans

Arrogant!

No, they don't have any wins over a team in the top 10. Kansas St is their top win at #11.

Because LSU vs. Ok State would be a beatdown and thus an utter bore. Yes, this view is largely a product of SEC/Bama bias, but I've seen these high flying Big 12 offenses get shut down once they face a team that actually plays defense enough times to feel comfortable with this assertion. Brandon Weeden would get his shite rocked against LSU, and while that would be entertaining in its own right, I think if you respect the game of football you have to want to watch two evenly matched teams play each other for a game of this magnitude.

Or.. because Alabama really has a crappy schedule

Yet Alabama's schedule is IDENTICAL (yes I said it) to LSU's with only 1 exception. You guys DID beat a very good Oregon team. Look at each schedule closely and that's literally the only difference. In fact, Alabama actually got a slightly tougher SEC East draw (Vandy>>>>>>Kentucky) and Penn State=West Virginia.

hey, my comment was not directed to anyone who actually plays or coaches for lsu. i'm sure they are as eager for the rematch as the actual alabama players and coaches.

Alabama is sitting on their butts with everything to gain and nothing to lose, so of course you are not complaining.

My gosh, do you bama fans think before you type your arguments?

I still haven't received one good reason why you deserve to play for a national title..

Only "we are #2 in the current BCS"...that doesn't cut it...because the season isn't over for several teams...

not scared of Bama's team

its the fact that losing to Bama, of everyone else in the mix (whats left of it), would be horrible.
Bama fans are looking at it as beating LSU and getting revenge would be the most gratifying.

yes, do you?

if the voters don't put alabama at #2 after this weekend, then you can relax and be all happy about playing whomever.

but, the bottom line about who "deserves" to play in the nc game is up to the computer and the people who have a vote.

get yourself a vote if you are upset about how the bcs system works instead of bitching about it on a message board.

I don't understand how Alabama will end up #2 based on resume' and not winning their conference. I realize they are #2 now...just don't' see them staying there while sitting at home watching other's earn their spots

I don't think this thing is going to go like Bama fans have been led to believe it will.

This is absolutely how it works. Provided Oklahoma St wins.. (they lose IMO), it comes down purely to voters.

I personally think it would be a crime for anyone but Bama to play LSU in this game. If we were in their shoes my answer would be....."this is the system we all signed up for and we're #2...end of story". A system as flawed as the BCS presents questions that have no definitively correct answer. As flawed as it is, however, it is going to succeed once again in placing the two best teams in the BCSNCG.

I think the main problem the OP is having here is that we have a system in place that supposedly protects the significance of the regular season and in this case that isn't happening.
