Stop McHonkey or whatever TE they play

McConkey has missed most of the season. He didn't dress for GT.

We may be without him, anyway.

Carson Beck has quietly been one of the best QB’s in the SEC this season. Bama has to get serious pressure or he will pick them apart.

I'd also appreciate the perspective of those fans of teams that have played both this season.
Alabama along with ref assistance is going to turn UGA into the Israelites again.

Wander in the wilderness for another 40 years. Glad you enjoyed your good run.

Need to get consistent pressure, but also be better against the run than we were yesterday. Gotta figure out how to deal with Bowers, obviously.

Milroe needs to run, whether designed or scrambling. Not every play, but needs to take what he can on the ground.

I think Alabama can play with and beat Georgia, but Alabama needs to play up to their capabilities.

A Volunqueer fan pulling for Bama to win just feels wrong.

Need more designed runs for sure. Can't have the insane fricks up on snapping the damn ball.

Ladd is a man beater by himself.
Bowers too.

I don't watch Bama much.
But we are diverse enough on offense to have a lot of success against both man and zone when healthy.

Man, I'm just happy Bama is in the game! No one is giving the Tide a chance.
I think we need to play with more emotion. Have fun and enjoy the game. No more playing not to lose.
If we can play with half the passion Auburn did against us, watch out.

Definitely our greatest strength this year: diversity on offense.

Someone asked in another thread the other day who our offensive MVP was/is. Stumped me. I guess Carson, simply because of his steadiness and consistency? But, really, it's like every game someone new steps up.

It's been a unique season in that regard.

I think Bama will need to crack this same riddle: who is the MVP?

Alabama's key is getting enough from their tailback that Georgia has to stay committed to containing the run game. Alabama is going to need to hit shots. Milroe is only an adequate short and mid-range thrower; his best attribute as a passer is his deep ball. If Georgia has to pack it in to make Alabama ineffective on handoffs then Milroe's arm becomes a big factor.

I tend to think UGA will have a much better and varied plan to keep Milroe from becoming a scramble drill threat. Still, best designs sometimes fail against an athletic quarterback. How many times does Milroe slip into the open field; how many times does Georgia bait him into TFLs and no gainers? Might be a big factor in the game if it is close.

As for defense, Alabama is going to need to take some lessons from what Freeze exposed in the Iron Bowl. Broadly, it seems that Freeze used formations and linemen actions at the snap to wash out the linebackers and challenge the DBs to play the run. I'm sure UGA will attempt to replicate those problems in their own way but I'm not sure they can do it to the same success. Some of what Auburn was doing just really isn't how UGA plays ball. The conceptual level of getting Alabama defense in a scenario where the DBs have to clean up the play is something to look out for...Alabama's DBs have generally been willing and good tacklers but they just were not yesterday.

That passion is derived from an Indian burial ground and a few witch doctors. 'Bama can't go down that dark path.

Fitting name in this discussion, IMO. Here we are again, right back where it all began in 2021.

Here's to a well fought game.

So far, with the exception of that cvnt bitch WhiskeyRiver1998, this has been a great thread.

I appreciate the responses.

Vertical passing game. Kirby is inept at stopping it.

Going in to the year I expected it to be a huge strength for your team. Haynes and Young looked like they would really elevate the run game. Any theory as why they are not playing a bigger role?

I think it will take a flu breakout in the Georgia locker room Thursday morning!

I don’t see it happening!

We sat 3-4 key players against GT. I am not sure if they could not play, or just sitting because they have been dinged up and we wanted them fresh and healthy for Alabama. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Stop the run. Get pressure with 4 so you can cover all routes with safety help. No turnovers. Basically same as every game.
