Ya I’m sure it’s a coincidence lol

I mean, you can usually break up our seasons into ~3-4 game sections.

Taking this season as an example:

Start off with usually a good opponent (Louisville), then an easy game to work on some things/rest injuries from opener (Arkansas St), Ole Miss, Texas A&M, easy game to rest the starters/glorified off week (ULL), 3 SEC games (Arkansas, Mizzou, Tenn), true off week (getting into the final stretch of reg season), 2 SEC games (LSU, MSU), glorified off week/rest starters before Iron Bowl(Citadel), Iron Bowl, SECCG.

Helps make sure there's not more than 3 tough games in a row, and putting the true off week at 60% through the season is probably the best possible time.

If we played LSU in week 4, I guarantee we wouldn't put our off week during week 3.

You know I've always wondered why Alabama schedules a bye week the week before the LSU game instead of the week after it. LSU is such a physical football team and it usually has a carryover effect to the following week where Bama often plays like shite because they're so worn down i.e. 2012 A&M, last year against Mississippi State, etc..

OK, so I'll explain it to those of you that are a little slow (roger79, jchamil, MykTide, SECFan1995, NFLSU, UTprideofTX, thatdude1985, dbuchanon, most Bama fans, all Florida fans.)

Once upon a time, there was a Mike Shula, and Bama sucked.

Prior to 2007 Alabama's bye wasn't before LSU. It was usually in early October, before Ole Miss.

But something happened in 2007. Maybe they got a new employee shortly before that or something, but someone moved the bye to before the LSU game. A few years later LSU adjusted as well.

Years later, every Gump in Bamaland pretends like LSU isn't a big deal.

If you asked Little Debbie who the biggest game on the schedule is (besides "the next game on the schedule") I have a feeling it'd be LSU, not Tennessee, and not even Auburn.

But good luck getting him to admit that in a press conference.

Edited a typo

LSU is a big game. Since Tennessee's collapse it is the biggest game in the middle portion of our schedule.

It's a perfect time for a bye week, about 2/3 of the way through the season and before a 3 game stretch to finish the season that is almost the most physical of the year (LSU, State, Auburn).

It should be changed to when LSU feels it's best for Alabama.

Doesn't need to be before LSU anymore. Bama has a Tennessee like streak going against the tigahs right now.

A better question is why does LSU waste their bye before a game everyone knows they're going to lose.

But something happened in 2007.

We added a 12th regular season game in 2006.

That's actually a valid point.

I was trying to find out when the schedule came out for 2007, but in 2006 the bye ALSO wasn't before LSU.

We also played LSU later in the season than we do now. In 2001, 2003, and 2004, our off week was during the same week as it is now.

Think he's just making the point that even tho their fans say this game isn't a rivalry, clearly Saban thinks its the biggest game on the schedule no matter what.

Tiger Rant? Lock your imbeciles back up. I get you had to let them out to celebrate winning a game, but they've had a day. That's quite enough.
