I didn't think it would get this bad either. Just can't believe tornadoes are happening in January. Mother nature has been very harsh here lately.

All is well in Tuscaloosa. We had one cross over Hwy 43 up around the lake, but not much damage at all. I think it was the one that came through the Bham area.

Damn. Southeast Alabama and Georgia are getting pounded now. I'm just now looking at the radar for the first time since 3:15am.
Stay safe beaver!

Suprised that this particular system seemed to ramp up overnight but December and January outbreaks aren't all that unusual in the Deep South especially in La Nina winters. I remember the EF2 tornado that hit the 5 points area of Tuscaloosa in January 1997 and the monster EF4 that hit the HillCrest/Taylorsville area of Tuscaloosa on Dec 16, 2000.

I haven't been here in a week... Been busy... I'm alive

I'm guessing the Tuscaloosa County/Jefferson County tornado from last night was an EF-3 or an EF-4. My bet goes with EF-3.
