It’s funny the team talking about all-time series lead wants to arbitrarily not count anything before 1945

That’s cute coming from the President of the Goalpost Movers Club..

I was thinking you had more than the Aggie had given you credit for.

I know that Arkansas had the stronger program compared to A&M. I think the Aggies are wanting to exaggerate their status which I can understand.

It’s actually quite interesting to hear Aggie talk about football prior to 1970.. usually they say that time period doesn’t count because they were an all male school..

Which is ironic since all 3 of their NC came during the years prior to 1970..

Okay, sounds like from time to time before WWII A&M had a lot of success.

Since WWII?

Like has been written several times, CFB has at least 3 (more like 4) distinct eras that defined who was most likely to be competitive.

Before WWII, small schools could compete with bigger schools because the sport was still a function of passion and toughness. Resources were a minor issue.

After WWII, the big schools had a distinct advantage in students, resources, alumni, and the desire to excel in something small, elite schools could no longer compete in.

In the 70s, scholarship limits, more opportunities for TV exposure, and more schools becoming large universities evened out the playing field. In A&M’s case, this was compounded hugely by allowing women on campus and making the Corps voluntary.

(The fourth era could be said to be the rise of super conferences.)

So, yeah, that period from WWII to ~1974 was pretty much the worst combination for A&M to be competitive.

Aggies are the new kid at the new school trying to transfer in as the cool kid.

Arkansas is the bully kid that went to school at the former place with Aggie that exposes them as the dorks they are by de-pantsing them at the school dance in front of their crush.

Well, we’ve been at this party for 9 years now. Pants intact.

Aggies cutting their dicks off to spite their nut sack.
And they're still doing it. They sabotaged playoff expansion when it was their best chance to get in.

Living in the DFW area for 30+ years, it seems aTm fans regard Texas as their rival while Texas fans regard Oklahoma as their rival.
