I guess you all haven't watched AR much this year because they've sold out almost every Saturday game and it's been loud as hell.
I watched Auburn win at Arkansas.

For the record, Auburn's arena is dead-last in capacity in the SEC. Dead. Last.
Pearl has turned them into BasketbAlL! Fanz!! for the time being.
Auburn's Arena isn't even top 5 in the SEC.

Arkansas is the loudest.
Saw Auburn beat a top 5 Tennessee team in Harper and Brown's last game at Auburn Arena and it was nowhere near as loud as Arkansas during Christmas Break against a Tennessee team in the back half of the top 25.
I mean, it holds over twice as many people as Auburn arena. I believe one of the design features of BWA is that the furthest seat from the court was closer than the furthest seat in the arena it replaced, Barnhill Arena. They crammed twice the capacity into closer space.
I wish BWA had more legroom and larger seats. Maybe we'll get that in the renovation coming up.
Most arenas get loud at some point. Bud Walton is louder than pretty much anywhere, and it doesn't have to be a top 25 team playing.

Yet interestingly a flawless record in the arena.

I've been to most of the arenas in the the SEC and I to admit Thompson is one of the best I've been to. Currently I would rank these as my Top 5.
1. Bud Walton (obviously biased here)
2. Rupp Arena
3 Thompson-Boling
4. Auburn Arena
5. Pete Maravich

That's nice. It still isn't close to the best arena in the league. They're having success, so they're on the bandwagon.
The same would be true for about a half dozen other SEC schools, all of which have nicer, bigger arenas than Auburn.
Funny thread concept, though.

Whoa. This thread on Auburn's nationally lauded arena has your Wednesday headed the wrong way. Fresh pair of panties?

When your arena only sees 3 losses in three years you let me know.

Pearl's home record at Tennessee was quite a bit better than his record at home at Auburn.
yes because Auburn was such a powerhouse when he arrived

If even HALF of the capacity of Bud Walton shows up for a game (it's been sold out most of the year, btw) that's a bigger crowd than the record crowd at Auburn
Not sure what this has to do with crowd noise / atmosphere. I wouldn't put Bud Walton ahead of say Cameron Indoor just because of crow size.
Auburn's arena acoustic setup is one of the best noise traps out there. With low flat ceilings, all hard surfaces and student section ring at the court level it is hard to beat.
Acoustics are just as important for crowd noise as crowd size.

LMAO I gurantee you have never been to any of the arena's you just posted about. The fact that you think Kentucky has Arkansas and Auburn beat on loudness proves it. Stick to football fuqboi.
I was speaking in terms of loudness at the height of a moment. like a big 3 to take the lead or a massive dunk... do you really think Auburn is louder at it's PEAK with over 10k less people. This isn't football where 10k doesn't mean alot. but when it comes to over a 100% increase in fans... yeah it means alot. nice try though

That's nice. But not a single person who has ever been to a league game in both would say Auburn is louder. In fact, most in this thread say it isn't even close.

That has absolutely nothing to do with atmosphere.
Jordan-Hare only seats 87,451. When it gets rocking, you will never be in a louder stadium.

I don't have a dog in the fight because I haven't been to many basketball games. But capacity would have nothing to do with it, it would be something more like cubic ft of capacity per fan right? In other words if Arkansas holds twice as many fans but is 2.5 times bigger in volume of size, then no it wouldn't matter.
For the record, I don't know the answer to that.
But, the OP rated Best stadiums. Not loudest or most capacity. So the question that should be answered, is what stadium is the best for the fans and the atmosphere.

And you say Bud Walton isn't top 3 in the SEC? From a Kentucky fan:
quote:
Before the game got underway, you could feel the big-game atmosphere. The first time fans Called the Hogs, it was mesmerizing. All 20,000 fans were united, ready to whoop Cal’s Cats.
Few of the fans in the arena could name Kentucky’s starting five, but they all knew John Calipari. You could feel the vitriol in their voice whenever one screamed, “T HIM UP!” after each time Cal spoke to an official. Eventually, they got their wish. I’ve been to a lot of 100,000-seat football stadiums and I’ve never heard a place louder than Bud Walton Arena after John Calipari was ejected. The floor shook. The roar physically hurt my eardrums.
“Wow” was really all we could think in the moment. It was a spectacle, and for the time being, Kentucky was still within striking range. They responded better than we could have ever anticipated.
On the drive home I left Arkansas with two thoughts. First, I was happy to see somebody else in the SEC do basketball right. Razorback fans care tremendously about their basketball program. Eric Musselman injected a spark they desperately needed. Dreaming of better days in the 90s, for the good of the game I hope their fans will be treated to elite basketball once again.
All things considered, it was the most fun I’ve had at a Kentucky basketball game since Anthony Davis blocked John Henson’s shot at Rupp Arena in 2012.
Immanuel Quickley had to cover his ears for about 30 seconds it was so loud during parts of that game.

The only venue I’ve ever heard louder than BWA in the closing minutes of regulation against Tennessee in 2018 is Phog Allen.
