it always takes Gus three games to "figure out what he`s got" early season quality opponents are a nightmare for AU.

I don’t think Washington defensively is ready for Auburn and quite honestly I think it sets up well
For a very young OL to get there feet wet. Unless Washington has some real horses on that front seven I’m not aware of and that could be it’s not like I did a roster search ion them. Auburn returns a really good defense. Auburn by two TD at least.

What you say maybe true but GusBus is known to screw up the first game of the year.

No they won't. They will lose to Bama, UGA, and probably Washington. Gus's Auburn teams have played very poorly in Atlanta outside of the Mizzou game. Louisville almost beat them with a true freshman third string QB in Lamar Jackson. In fact if Petrino had played Jackson earlier in that game, Louisville would have won.

They lost 4 games last year but you'd think the way they act, they went 14-1.

Mizzou: win
Louisville: win
Georgia: loss
UCF: loss

Definitely on a losing streak. The caliber and quality of opponent in 3 of those 4 games have been top 10, though. Let’s not act like they played some scrubs.

Well, yeah, he was good as a true freshman.

He did. In fact, he threw an INT on the first play of the game.

I must be missing this. I see a lot of Auburn fans excited for 2018, but disappointed by the way 2017 ended.

He was lined up at wide out on that play. He didn't come in as QB till the late second or third quarter. The other two QBs couldn't get anything going. But it was Lamar's running as usual that was giving Auburn fits.

I am aware. It was a toss-up going into the game as to who Bobby Petrino would start. I’m willing to bet a lot of what he did early on was based on Lamar Jackson’s bad decision during the first play.

Also crazy to see Reggie Bonofon (the guy that started at QB) ended up being a starting RB for Louisville while Lamar Jackson ended up being the QB.

We lost 4 players that started games on the OL...but both guards and the LT are returning starters. New C, new RT. Not likely to be an issue.

Gus doesn't beat anyone "badly" the first 3 weeks of a season. He's still trying to figure out who's on the team.

After last year, I don’t think a non-divisional winner thats best win was MSU , gets in to the Playoff by passing the “eye test”.

Alabama and UGA on the road

Swap Clemson for Washington. It's definitely harder.

Plus their best pass rusher, best LB and two best DB's.

Opening with UW is not helpful either.

Better than opening with Clemson, though.
