Damn Owens has beefed up. He's standing next to Blackson (6'4 316) and actually looks like a formidable DE, not a converted LB. I hope he can stay healthy and have a big year, he was starting to come on before he got hurt last year. The extra weight will only help

Per Justin Hokanson:

quote:

Jay Prosch

quote:

entered spring at 6-foot, 253-pounds

quote:

Sources say Prosch is already making his mark on Auburn history, throwing up 380-pounds in the clean lift in front of the entire team. It's unclear whether that is a new Auburn team record, but Prosch's toughness and mentality to pave the way have him itching at the chance to put the pads on.

quote:

Prosch has also paid close attention to the running backs that he will be blocking for, noting their is some speed to burn. "I think two or three of them ran 4.2's. They're fast, they're strong, and I'm really looking forward to playing with them and seeing what they can do," Prosch said. "I'm very impressed with the backs we have."

A few more galleries...

24/7 - LINK

There's a pretty good pic in there of Delaine(#52). He's got a completely different body than when he got to Auburn.

Scout - LINK

The third picture is Dee Ford. Looking strong. Sigler(96) is looking like a DT now too.

Is it good or bad for CJ with his move to TE?

I think it's great and like several of the Auburn fans said they expected it as did I. He has great athletic skills and could be used as a classic move te. They could use him as an H-back some, put him out wide, and generally use him as a speed/size mismatch.

How does it feel to be second choice? You guys will probably be 4'th in the west this year. Enjoy! :)

So you live under the impression that every player on the LSU roster had LSU as their first choice?

Practice #3

quote:

*** Kiehl Frazier and Reese Dismukes continued to work together today. Clint Moseley was paired up with Thomas O'Reilly today, a change from Tunde Fariyike on Friday. Zeke Pike worked with Fairiyke instead today.

*** I feel bad for the guys going up against Robenson Therezie and Chris Davis in drills blocking/tackling drills. Their hits were heard clear across the field and Wilie Martinez praised both of them by saying things like: ""Way to crush it out."

*** Alex Kviklys did the pre-practice kicking drills. Cody Parkey was there and practicing, so it was probably just a matter of giving the new guy a shot. Kvikly is listed as a redshirt freshman. He's from Marietta, Ga.

*** Coaches Brian Van Gorder, Karibi Dede and Tommy Thigpen were all working with the linebackers at the beginning of practice.

*** Returning Steven Clark and Will Campbell's (walk-on from Auburn) punts were: Trovon Reed, Demetruce McNeal and Quan Bray.

*** Returning kicks from the machine were: Corey Grant, Sammie Coates, Travante Stallworth, Tre Mason, Onterio McCalebb, Jermaine Whitehead and Robenson Therezie. While I was watching, Therezie was the only one who dropped one.

*** I didn't get a good look at Jay Prosch on Friday and made a point to check him out today. My goodness, dude is huge. I haven't seen calf muscles like that since a certain 6-6 quarterback played here.

Hoke's Observations:

*** Kick returners were Onterio McCalebb, Jermaine Whitehead, Travante Stallworth, Tre Mason, Corey Grant, and Robenson Therezie.

*** Dismukes is obviously first team center, and it appears that Thomas O'Reilly and Tunde Fariyike are battling for second team. They both have switched taking reps at the two and three position.

*** The starting offensive line appears to be LT Greg Robinson, LG John Sullen, Dismukes, RG Eric Mack, and RT Chad Slade.

*** Kris Frost, Jawara White, and Justin Garrett were working second team linebacker it appears, with Holland, Bates, and actually Anthony Swain getting some first team reps.

*** Philip Lutzenkirchen was stressing to C.J. Uzomah today to be "physical" in the first day in pads.

*** The running back rotation going through drills was Tre Mason, Onterio McCalebb, Corey Grant, and Mike Blakely in that order.

*** The quarterbacks were all splitting reps. Loeffler never stops coaching, constantly giving instruction, especially with Pike. Like the fact he's taking every rep to coach up the freshman.
