Heavy hearts here, my dude. Can't blame Auburn folks for not wanting to hear about any of that stuff. Sometimes its best to just move on

There is no need to make this a personal piss match. I apologize for my role in that. 3 people are dead that do not deserve it and this is a tragedy. I am sorry if my "lawyer speak" was interpreted as me saying the football players deserved this. I did not mean that at all.

Ya'll should know by now that IDGAF about teams in matters like this. This deal will end in one of a few ways.

1) Acute lead poisoning at the hands of law enforcemnt.
2) Acute lead poisoning by his own hands.
3) Plea deal taking DP off the table.
4) Convicted and gets an IV.

My vote is 1 or 3.

Sheridan would make this the favorite.

I don't get the suicide or suicide by cop vibe on this one. Not sure why. I would say 3 or 4 will happen. Probably 3.

A law degree can be a dangerous thing in discussions like this one. One day age and wisdom will teach me to keep that knowledge to myself in times like these I am sure.

In your effort to be clinical and analytical, then, I think (in my opinion, of course) you took a short walk a bit over the line.

I take you at your word that that was not your intent.

Probably so. An idiot I am not, but untimely I am. I will admit that. I made one post and the hits kept coming. I unfortunately felt the need to defend myself.

Maybe one day you may gain a little more common sense to go with the education, as to when a discussion you wanted to pursue here is warranted.
Your message may have merit, but your timing is shite.

Edit: you already admitted as much. My respect for you remains. Well done sir.

Monticello, you knew exactly what you were doing when you got involved in this thread the way you did. I can't speak for everyone but with me, what little credibility you had is gone.

I find it had to believe you would not know this was no the time or place for your antics. Your "connect the dots" was not necessary at this time.

Pretty sad.

Wow good point.

quote:

"Let me point that out, the only connection the Auburn football team
has to this is they are victims of a brutal shooting," Dawson said. "Sometimes the young men get a bad rap. But they're the victims.

"It's not just about the Auburn football players. It's about the other young men who have been injured, especially about the young man fighting for his life at UAB today. That's what this is about. That's why you do this job, for, the victims."

Dawson said police have a motive but would not release it or address any evidence on Sunday.

This is a pretty strong statement from a Police Chief. I know they can get it wrong too, but makes the bitterness towards the suspect understandable on the day after it happened.

AUBURN, Alabama -- Auburn offensive lineman Eric Mack was released from the East Alabama Medical Center late Sunday afternoon after suffering a gunshot wound in a shooting Saturday night that left two of his former teammates and an Auburn resident dead.

Mack was shot in the hip area at University Heights apartments near the Auburn campus.

Guess I don't get why the article is so inflammatory. The other stuff did happen and there's not a direct link to robbery and the point shaving, it does allude that there is a big problem down there. I'm surprised Cam Newton, Lowder, and Macgregor werent' mentioned too.

You've got to be joking.

I have already apologized for any role I played in the pissing match. I had no intent of causing a pissing match but I can fully admit my lack of judgment in continuing to defend myself as opposed to just stepping away. Again, I apologize for the distraction. This is a time for addressing the human element. The legal battles can be fought later. My youth was evident in this thread.

Sorry man, I don't buy your "I'm young and stupid" BS. You knew exactly what you were doing and now you are back peddling. Not sure if you meant to take your subtle troll as far as you did but you are smarter enough not to start it in the first place.

There was a time you were one of the better posters on this site. That time has passed for some reason.

The original post was just my legal analysis of how this would play out in court depending on how the facts turned out. I never meant for it to turn into a pissing match but it did between "beatbammer" and myself. I should have respected the sensitive timing at that point and stepped away, but I was challenged and foolishly made it a personal issue where the big picture was lost. For that, I really do apologize.
