Has nothing to do with Auburn.

Has everything to do with overgrown children being raised in a culture that glorifies so-called "respect" over life. You "disrespect"? You get shot. Could happen in any city in the USA. Horrifying.

Have read rumors that Big Ed and Da Da were just trying to break up whatever was going on. Dammit dammit dammit...

Death penalty a or life without parole are common punishments for these type crimes. Not sure how much stiffer the penalty could be.

Life without parole shouldn't even be an option. I firmly believe if you intentionally kill then you should be killed. Plus, with our legal system being as shambled as it is, there is a good chance that someone that was involved could possibly walk due to plea deal.

The concept of "respect" has basically turned into "do what I want you to do". It's fricking stupid. Especially when these are the consequences.

That is the mentality kids develop when all they do is listen to 2 chainz and lil wayne and what ever other stupidity is being spewed from a random, dumb p.o.s.

Things like this will only stop happening in our society when we enforce harsher, stiffer penalties for these types of crimes. Simply, P.O.S. thugs like this don't belong or have a place in our society.

Agreed.

It has more to do with the fact that many of them don't have father figures, and thus no male role model to teach them how to act like a man. Which results in many them not growing up until they are in their 30s.

I have heard this argument more times than I care. I wish that it were the case that tougher penalties would deter dumbassery. I honestly think that we need to have truly frightening punishments for certain crimes. Just so you know I am for hard labor in max security prisons. IE Angola, not the prisoners are people to correctional facilities. I hope the shooters in this instance, as I said before, die screaming in pain over a long period of time.

Honestly the current system is not working as efficiently as any of us would like. I honestly think that some of these crimes need to be punishable with "less humane" tactics. 3rd worldish even.

Some places more than others, which is why statistically speaking, Auburn is one of the safest places to live in America.

That being said, that falls under the category of "Someone's spewing dumb shite so I'm gonna spew dumb shite right back".

While not the same situation, I imagine Auburn a bit like VT... great college towns where a freak accident happened. You'd never imagine a shooting there, at either of those places.

Just sickening. My heart goes out to all. I just don't understand all the violence. Is it that so much violence is in video games and the media that a generation can't separate that violence from reality? Is it the violence applauded in music? I am beginning to wonder if all the additives in foods is affecting peoples' brains. Whatever the cause, this is ridiculous and very, very heart wrenching.

I woke up this morning and after reading about all this shite, I couldn't believe something like this happened at Auburn. I mean literally had to read several different sources to believe it.
