Whatever you do, do not stay in Tuskegee. Sketchy as hell.

things to do on Gameday could involve:
1. Tiger Walk is pretty nice.
2. You can check out the small museum in the Athletic complex. it is only about 5000 SF but has some pretty cool trophies.
3. Just walking around campus, it is a nice stroll around.

Use the Auburn/Opelika tourism site someone already linked to find a place to stay.

If possible, get into town around mid-day Friday. If you do that, go to the raptor center on Friday afternoon. They have an ampitheatre where they fly several of the raptors that the center houses, and you should get to see one of the eagles (among several other types of birds) fly in a much more up close and personal manner than the eagle flight on game day.

They are also going to do stadium tours on Friday afternoons/evenings as well, which will let you come out the AU entrance and walk onto the field. If you have never stood on the field of an SEC stadium and looked around, it is a must just to see what it looks like.

On Saturday, you certainly want to be in the stadium and in your seats about 30 minutes before kickoff to see the eagle fly. Before that, follow the crowd for Tiger-Walk, the most imitated tradition in college football. After Tigerwalk, stay at the intersection by where the players go in and wait for the band to come down. They do about a 10-15 minute pep rally with Aubie, the cheerleaders, majorettes, etc.

According to the PDF file from the AO tourism website it looks like the Marriot at Grand National is open for your weekend. It's over near opelika, but, close enough for sure. Grand national is part of the robert trent jones golf trail and is always first class.

Try to stay on topic. Just because a dumb comment comes up doesn't mean you have to respond with something even worse.

I would recommend scenic Victory Drive in beautiful Columbus GA.

Only 30 minutes from Auburn and some interesting clubs to take the family to.

This! C-Town is the shiz!

This. Auburn/Opelika is a really good golf area and has probably the best golf courses on the RTJ Golf Trai. Definitely recommend you and your kids carrying their clubs and playing if you have an extra day and your a golfer.
