I would fing love it if Auburn hired Jimbo Fisher. More great recruiting with no player development. If Jimbo can't win the ACC with the only premier program in the conference, he sure as hell can't win the SEC at Auburn. He is basically a Gene Chizik clone without a conference or national title on his resume. Plus, FSU is a much better job than Auburn and he would never leave it for AU.

Petrino is AU's best bet.

Auburn would get Jimbo the same way Bama got Saban. Money and Power - throwing lots of it at him.

Please give a consistent and proven underachiever an 8 year 32 million contract with no buyout provision and complete control of the program. I would really appreciate that. There is absolutely nothing in common between Jimbo and Saban.

this should never be an argument from an Alabama fan considering that the majority of your championships are claimed before Auburn's first and most of those are bull shite anyway

I was about to ask you how Saban (2), Stallings (1) and Bryant (6) for a total of 9 of the 14 titles claimed by Alabama somehow came before Auburn's first but then I realized that you are indeed correct.

I'd like to applaud you for recognizing the fact that the 1957 title was actually awarded to Alabama Polytechnic Institute.

Jimbo Fisher is just Mark Richt 2.0

He'll give Auburn some good years (borderline great), very few truly bad years, and a couple of mediocre years mixed in. However, at least once a season he'll shite the bed and lose a game he shouldn't or get the brakes beat off of him in a big, nationally televised game. He'll never get over the hump to lead a great team but he'll do enough to keep the big money boosters satiated while the masses seethe.

this sounds real familar.

Auburn sucks and has pipe dreams of getting a coach that apparently is not as good as once thought

At what point does the Auburn AD step out and throw "complete confidence" in Chez? I may have missed it, but i don't think he has yet. You know the AD has heard the rumblings from the supportors. So why not come out and nip the rumors of Chez leaving in the bud. Or at least say that his performance will be evaluated at the end of the year. Which of course means Auburn has already contacted likely replacements. If his performance is evaluated and he stays, that boils down to no suitable replacement coach could be found.

(Side note: Someone needs to develop an emoticon that shows the yellow man pouring gas on a dumpster fire. Most used emoticon ever!!!!)
