You have shitty taste.
Alright, I'm gone for a bike ride and may stop off at a volleyball match.
Y'all have a good one.

Chiz is getting paid 3.5 mil. After all the money you will have to pay to get rid of the Chiz, you think Auburn will have the money to match what FSU will throw at Fisher to stay?
Even if they could match, he is at an established program. Why rebuild for just the same or a little more?

if we're getting rid of Trooper too, we will free up a lot of money out of the slush fund

Well that makes sense. Since AU is not an established program and we are still working out the kinks...yeah I dont see why Fisher would leave.

I want Butch Davis more than anyone. I know it would be a tall task keeping him out of NCAA trouble but he is the only coach close to Saban in terms of developing NFL caliber talent, at seemingly every position. I think he's one of the best coaches in the country.

Lots of comments here to the effect that AU's fans & parents of recruits wouldn't like CBP because of his baggage. But what is the take on AU's AD and administration: would he/they have the balls to hire him? Is there any actual knowledge on this?
There are some that want him and some that don't want him. Not sure where the AD sits on this.
last I've heard is that Chizik is expected to stay and a major revamp of the staff, keeping BVG and maybe a couple of others. I believe that is likely due to the buyout, which can be paid in installments from my understanding.
I suspect if we get blown out by Vandy, UGA and UA it may be enough to swing some votes into the can Chizik camp.
I've no clue who we go after if that happens. Petrino is the best we could get at present IMHO, from a proven HC standpoint not saying personality and not saying we'd go after him.
It will be interesting to see how that coaching search goes down, last time it was felt, according to some, that since Auburn's one of the bigger names in CFB we didn't need a big name coach that the name would help us recruit. I suspect more emphasis will be placed upon a proven HC and not taking someone with potential.
If AU hires Petrino it will bring negative attention and the press will say that AU now has a win at all costs mentality. In reality winning is the main part of it, you can have tons of players arrested, UF and UGA, and the press overlooks some of that if you win. UA caught a lot of heat for hiring Saban at the salary they paid and the contract they gave him where he could walk with no issues and is still owed full salary, yet haven't heard a peep about that now since he's won so much. Winning tends to shut people up about much of your problems.

I could see AU offering to meet in the middle on this.
A Chik Fil A bowl bid would more than cover that and part of Chiz buy out.

Link? Because I saw this. 7.5 mil
And the terms are 200k a month until he finds a new job and his payout after that job takes into account how much the new job pays him. So if he makes 150k a month, we only owe a 50k portion of the 200k, etc...

Im sure and Im sure FSU wouldn't just let him walk, but It isn't gonna happen, honestly I'd go after BP much greater chance.

If Auburn fires Chizik on Dec. 1 of this year, the total buyout amount would be $7.5 million. That would mean a monthly payment to him of about $202,702.70 for 37 months through the end of his contract.
But that’s only if Chizik would be unable to find another job during that time. The contract requires him “to use reasonable efforts to obtain other employment and/or income from third parties.” This is standard coaching-contract language, too.
