Thanks for furthering the bama redneck moron stereotype.

One team has a Rhodes scholar finalist as a QB and leads the SEC in APR and the other team is in the midst of an academic scandal ...and you think Bama has the "redneck moron stereotype"?
Mmmkay, pal. Way to be in touch with reality.

FSU had a Rhodes scholar not just a finalist and the rest of the team was cheating on tests, not going to class, having reports written for them, being handed learning disabilities so they could have someone help them pass a test.

Auburn took a lot of hard steps to strip away the easy support that most SEC Universities still provide so they can keep players on the field instead of in the classroom. Auburn fans can be proud of Rich McGlynn in this case as he did a great job. I for one support it, it gives players excellent support but it does force them to do work instead of have things handed to them.

Also those in glass houses best not throw bricks.

It is a smear tactic...nothing more.

Thats kind of my point, why do you feel like its done as an attack. I think its saying hey there were some probs here but they took care of it. And the article does mention that the admin/faculty is making an attempt to reclaim their school from a "ROGUE" professor. Be proud of that.

A lot of our drop in graduation rate came from several players leaving the program early

by leaving early, you mean being kicked out. Right?

I know you guys will want to review the full study so here it is

Thanks. So from 2010 to this year, Auburn went from a 46% disparity in black to white graduations to a 51% disparity.. nice. Nothing like having family to have your best interests at heart..

I wouldn't say Auburn is in an academic scandal at all. Perhaps something a bit more dubious though as far as treatment of black athletes.

Where is the link to show the full report? Why use the title that they used if not to show AU in a poor light?

It is interpretted as AU puts more care to the athletics and not the books.

Spin it any way...it is a smear. Pete Thamel was the other guy with Thayer Evans citing "sources" for everything.

Probably because there's a higher percentage in white/black graduation disparity rates than in how many black football players graduate.

51% more whites graduate than blacks in Auburn football.
49% black football players graduate.
100% white football players graduate.

That's not smear, that's not picking on Auburn, that's simply a disgusting number. And there is no way that Auburn can spin that as being picked on.

You think it's unfair? How liberal are you? Auburn doesn't want to just hand out diplomas so gasp they are actually making student athletes earn them. It's up to the individual to take some initiative. I promise you they have ample opportunity, help, and support.

The title says nothing about the disparagy among black and white players. It simply says AU is a good football team with dumb players.

Where are the articles about the other 119 teams with disparagies?

or are you, like Pete, suggesting that this is just an AU problem?

IF the APR is out, A non AU smear article would have focused on all teh cases where theses nuymbers are skewed citing AU as one of many examples along with a link for teh reads to see the numbers.

But it's not.

Right. 100% of white football players earn theirs and 51% of black football players just want a diploma handed to them? That's really what you're saying. No wonder the disparity if that's how the program is run. Rangers was in this very thread talking about how Au has the least help for academics than any other SEC team too. If you're gonna lie and be that racist about it, at least TRY to hide it a little bit.
