After the 4 players, that the NYT reported was half the team, were found to have no put in adequate effort Auburn made a lot of changes that everyone knew was going to hurt us down the road. Auburn has the strictest and minimal support for athletic scholarship players out of anyone in the SEC. A lot of our drop in graduation rate came from several players leaving the program early, only a few of the 2007 class remain on campus.

Don't care at all. If they're good at football, they could be dumber than a sackful of DanMullenIsOurMans for all I care.

True, but you also have to realize that (at least by my reading) the graduation rates quoted were for across the board in the athletic department, and not just in football. Not only did Auburn lose a ton of kids from the football program due to grades, etc. the basketball team was hemoraging kids as well.
Also, and I hate how this sounds, but if there were more white student athletes in sports that lead to a professional future you would see that % drop. But when you are at Auburn on a gymnastics, tennis, swimming, softball or golf scholarship you aren't going to leave after your junior or RSsoph year to go play pro whatever - you stay and get your degree and get your education for free due to the scholly.
This does not explain why Auburn has the greatest racial disparity among all bowl teams this year.
Maybe it explains why you lost a lot of athletes.
Maybe it explains why white athletes are more likely to get a degree than black athletes.
But it does not explain why the racial gap is greater at Auburn than at any other school playing in a bowl game.

I would like to see just one aub come out and agree that this is disappointing and that it reflects a standard you, as an aub grad/fan, find unacceptable. All you people do is make excuses and attack the messenger when anything is brought to light that you don't want to believe is true. I've never wanted anyone to lose more than I want the barn to on Monday night. You deserve everything you have coming to you and more. Enjoy being humiliated on a worldwide stage...although you must be used to it by now.

You know a thread sucks when all of the ATPBers jump in.

Personally when I go to the stadium...I am thinking about the players test results.

So we've got half of the tards in that thread claiming he isn't even a student at AU because they can't find him in the directory. And we've got the other half claiming to know what his course load looks like. God, ya'll have truly redefined what the word pathetic means. People say it jokingly, but in this case, you fricks really should go kill yourself.

Read for comprehension. But thanks for telling us how you feel.

Was this your guys big bombshell that the NYT was writing??? The NCAA looked at that and concluded there was NOTHING to it... The drop in APR is interesting, but not surprising. It also does not affect the team... ... Other schools (Ole Miss and FSU had bigger drops). In fact it could be pointed out that Auburn did what they should have, ONCE they discovered the classes which were available to all students, basically ONE ROGUE professor...
Also, there are many schools that had a lower rate for black athletes.. Oregon (41), Arkie (45) TAM (45) and USCe 45 to name a few in bowls... I know you guys will want to review the full study so here it is... LINK

I don't care anything about that conspiracy theory thread.
This is no conspiracy. This is fact.
The racial divide on receiving your degree at Auburn is greater than any other school playing in any other bowl this year.

I could care less. I don't root for the football team for their academic prowess.

Your university murdered the person that got them on probation so gfy.

Is that how you felt watching your team and it's 4+ million dollar coach roll over and have their manhood taken from them on their homefield by their biggest rival?

CAuse you have access to AU student class registration.

Posted on 1/6/11 at 11:15 am to parkjas2001
Auburn has a program to ensure that athletes are registered and attending class... All major schools have that... they get progress reports... You are just 100% wrong on D.Adams...
