So to you it makes sense to concoct a scheme, with the help of an MSU alum, to try to get paid to go to MSU. However, when MSU says no, it makes sense to go to a rival team in the same division of the same conference where there does not appear to be any relationship with shady alumni and ask them for money too. That is much more logical.

No risk in doing that.

So why doesn't it make since? What if the idea of money wasn't cecils? The idea of money was shady MSU alum Kenny Rogers. Then it got shot down, you think everyone would keep talking money after that? I don't, ESP if it was my sons career at risk. The only explaination would be that Cecil isn't the one who initially asked for money, which is quite plausible given the outcome of this case and one of the only tell tell signs.

I'm gonna believe what I think as are you. That's fine but what you are saying is nobody every corrects mistakes mid happening and it just isn't true. I don't know anymore about it than you do but there is a lot more checks on the "not" guilty side rather than the guilty per the NCAA who spent a year searching.

That's retarded - MSU reported that his dad asked for $180k. Of course they didn't offer to pay it and report it. Whatever point you're trying to make with that is meaningless.

Kenny Rogers talked about money with Cecil who wrongfully didn't turn down the idea (hence why he never spoke in the meetings).

MSU said "whoa, we dont wanna hear that" or something to that affect.

Cecil knew it was gonna cost his son his dream so he cut ties with MSU and told Cam he wanted him to go to AU.
-------------
So MSU said we will pay you ZERO, Auburn payed 1000 times zero and that is zero...
--------------
do you really think that Cecil is smart enough to hide $180,000... Really

It has been discussed, but the assumption that Cecil actively approached MSU is nothing but that. An assumption.

You want to talk logic, how about considering for a second, that the MSU "recruiters", who admitted the story has absolutely nothing to do with Auburn, offered a player money to play for their shite-tier school. Cecil may have fleetingly considered this, but when it all started blowing up in his face, said "frick this, we're going to Auburn." The idea that corruption started and ended in MSU is supported by the fact that every other coach who recruited Cam said they saw nothing unusual.

It doesn't make sense, because who asks for $180k then settles for zero? Answer - no one.

Just take your hollow victory and be happy, but you'll never convince me that this deal was clean.

Those who don't get it. I'm glad you're not a negotiator.

Convincing you, someone who is clearly hell bent on ignoring certain facts, is not a priority.

Will you please give me $180,000 and I will no longer post on this board.. In fact I will pull for LSU... So does that mean someone will pay me the money?

This.
And the fact that bell and Rogers allready have been in trouble with this stuff on different levels says that the idea of money was theirs, they wanted a free pay day, Cecil was wrong in not turning the idea down but after being shot down and realizing the schools reaction how smart would it be to turn around and ask another school in the same conference.

The time table that the NCAA said 13 months.. Think about that. AU was working to clear this before we ever knew about it. But hey only the "we know they cheated crowd can add 3+3 and get "toothpaste" had that said to me and turns out you were doin it wrong.

Really? They had no leverage. If you have an inside man at one school and they refuse to pay, what would make someone think another school would pay where there is no known inside accomplice?

Your logic would only make sense if he was offered 180k to play somewhere else, but went to AU instead. Use logic instead of butthurt and it becomes pretty easy to understand.

I'm sure everything with Cam Newton was totally legit. It makes total sense to think his agent/dad would ask MSU for $180k

From all accounts, MSU refused to give Cecil a damn dime.

then play for Auburn for free.

Considering that MSU wouldn't give Cecil a dime, why in the hell do you think Auburn would need to pay for him, little missy?

So in your little pea-brain, asking for money automatically means you get it?

If I were you, when the banks open tomorrow, I'd got right up to a teller and ask them to give you all their money. By your logic, they should be more than happy to give it to you.

Good luck, sweety!

And if they say no, just go to the bank next door and ask. Surely you won't settle for "No" a second time.

I thought the rumor was MSU made a down payment.

Now I'm really confused. Did Alabama realy pay Mike Shula $4 million to leave or not?
