Just because it didn't work at UT doesn't mean it will not at AU. He's been to many wars in the SEC already.

Safety play by our defense was by far the worst position group.

Has a long history of coaching safeties pretty well. Kind of a weird take over a guy you had as DC for 5 years.
Auburn hiring a well-tenured DC from big programs who was getting HC chatter a year ago as a lowly position coach seems like a no-brainer.
