how would we out draw OM considering our stadium has 5k less in capacity? which won't be lasting too much longer, btw.

I know for a fact that OU didn't. And again, for Alabama to have sold out BDS for every game since 1988, and travel like we do, I'd say we're one of the top five fanbases in the country.

Jesus. Why is an Ole Miss fan lecturing on fan support?

once again read what I wrote if you're going to respond. Bama does has one of the top 5 fanbases, probably top 3. I was simply referring to bama posters who think y'all have the best. And as I've said many times on here, I'm quite aware of our lack of fan support at OM, in fact I think we have the worst fans in the SEC while y'all have the best in the SEC, just not the best in the country

States stadium capacity is larger than our average, it can be done, especially for a little over $100 a person. y'all out draw Memphis and their stadium is larger. I was mostly poking fun FWIW

What's disgusting is the price for UAB compared to the cost at Troy. Troy has a nicer stadium that they fill for home games, and they figured out a way to pay for it without having to beg for money. Who would pay that much for tickets to see UAB play?

I did, and you said "its one thing to have a waiting list after hiring Saban and winning an NC"...so yeah, I read that as a shot at our history of fan support...especially after you unfavorably compared it to what you considered longer streaks, like Florida's.

Nebraska is the only program I'd say has clearly enjoyed stronger support than us.

Another thing, Bryant Denny's sell-out streak was only TRACKED beginning in 1988, after the completion of an expansion that prevented any home games the previous year. It doesn't necessarily mean that games weren't sold out before the 1988 kickoff.

When I went to the Bama - MSU game last year, they announced it was the biggest crowd they had ever had.
When I went to the Bama - Ole miss game, they said it was the largest crowd to ever see a football game in Mississippi.

This is something that no one ever brings up. The sellout streak may go back as far as the mid-60s, but there's no way to really tell since records were no kept.

Alabama had a waiting list for season tickets long before Saban came to Alabama. It's just longer now.

My family bought 4 in 2000 and there was no waiting list.

Well, it also depends on what kind of tickets, donations, etc. Regardless, there has been a waiting list for the better part of a decade.

Which turned out to be false. The Memphis paper had an article the next day about the Mississippi Valley State-Alcorn game in the 80s drawing more than 60,000 in Jackson.

I may be wrong, but I believe capstone is mistaken. I think he's referring to a game in early 2000's when we said it was the largest and it was around 57,000. This was before our expansion in 02'. But I know for a fact that no oter stadium in MS can hold more than 62,000. MS memorial in Jackson might squeeze 60k before it would crumble. But please correct me if I'm wrong

What ever capacity is in Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium in Jackson. The Memphis paper said Ole Miss did not have the largest crowd to see a game in Mississippi, but the largest to see at game at VHS.
