If Auburn doesn't play Alabama every year, I think Auburn football kind of goes away and does other things as a focus.
And I don't mean that as a dig towards Auburn. I'm just saying that game is a large motivation for them, and it brings them relevancy. No matter how bad of a season they are having, if they can beat Alabama it's a win. And that game usually draws in eyeballs.
Just not sure where they would be without that hate.
