We saw the opportunity to hire a offensive coach who has never won an SEC game so we jumped on it.

Well hopefully we can both turn things around in this crazy year. Love playing each other when we are both doing well. Always a fun and close game.

I never want Auburn to lose, and I’m not going to root for UM, but I think that might be the best case for Auburn football 2020. Chizik wouldn’t have been fired in 2012 if he went 6-6, but he went hardcore implosion at 3-9.

It's not. We ran the ball against Arky but Morris wants to throw 4 out of every 5 downs.

It may seem that way, but just checking out the SC game, Nix threw 47 passes and y'all ran the ball 36 times. That is fairly normal in todays game. It probably seems like that because Auburn is a typically much heavier run oriented team much like Georgia. But we are throwing the ball more, too.

Pm the season Auburn has thrown the ball 143 time and run the ball 129 times, so it's not as far out of whack as you are thinking.

We are undisciplined. We have no leadership. At certain positions we have no depth. Our OL and DL are sub-par for this league. Our HC makes bone headed in game decisions. (we score a TD to go up 9-0 on SC, in the first quarter, and our HC decides to go for two...........for some dumbass reason)..............other than all of those things, we aren't bad.
This may be closer to being the root of your problem than Morris.

At any rate, I hope you guys figure things out. It can be very frustrating to be disappointed with the direction of your team.

Malzahn came in and succeeded with a scheme that heavily relied on substitution advantages created by the no-huddle. Those advantages were removed and he become a different coach. His entire system is based around antiquated offensive notions anyway and without the no-huddle, it became a conservative mess of off-tackle trickery mixed with the occasional Hail Mary. He was forced to acknowledge defense as part of the game. He feels no urgency to consistently recruit OL talent. HIs offensive staff are always a mix of yes men and street agents who have no business coaching athletes.

He really owes Kerryon Johnson about 1/2 his ridiculous salary and our former buffoon of a President the other 1/2. He'll win a game or two no one expects this year (not bama) and be back to do it again next season.

I promise this guy is not my alter.

There are a lot of problems with this Auburn team. The biggest is the offense is just a mess right now. Nix is getting a lot of the heat, but really Tank Grigsby is the only one that has been consistently good this season. Seth Williams looked like he had checked out Saturday. The OL has been terrible in pass protection, though they have looked better in run blocking the past 2 weeks. Nix bails on the pocket way too soon half the time. Which makes the play calling even more suspect when you see they attempted around 45 passes Saturday.

The defense has looked a little better the last couple of weeks as well, which is surprising given Britt's absence. They played more than well enough to win Saturday, but got little help from the offense.

Gus is prepping for Bama and not worrying about the rest of the schedule. Wants to eek out another contract extension.

He already won the only other game on the schedule he cares about.

Honestly, it's not complicated.

We had 1 guy on D we couldn't afford to lose and we lost him. I suspect if Britt plays against USCe we would have won that game in an ugly 19-16 type fashion.

The 19 against USCe though speaks to the other issues. We have no OL...I believe 3 of our starters came to Auburn as DL. Bo has some talent, but he has a lot of issues that he's not being coached out of and at this point he reminds me a lot of Mond at the same stage in his career. Finally, there is an apathy to Auburn football because of Gus that I assume the players some what can feel.

1. We are not good at the line of scrimmage.

2. We do not have a QB who can make plays in spite of #1. He actually makes plays for the other team.

3. We have gone all in on throwing the ball when we are better at running.

4. Defensive line lost Derrick Brown and Marlon Davidson. Got to find who can help.

5. DBs would rather chirp and smack talk than cover and tackle.

6. We turn the ball over frequently.

7. We commit many penalties.

8. We are not very well prepared and also not make adequate in game adjustments.

9. Our coach has only been here 8 years so we need several more recruiting cycles to get the talent he needs.

10. We only signed a coach for $49,000,000 over a brief period of 7 years. Not sure why people expect to compete with the top teams in our league consistently when we don’t invest in the program.
