They wanted Jay Jacobs gone and replaced with an outsider with no connections to Auburn. They said Jay Jacobs was a puppet for the big money people who actually made the decisions. Jay Jacobs was replaced with the Buffalo AD and Notre Dame grad Allen Greene.

Auburn fans were angry when they heard the money people wanted to hire the next head coach after firing Malzahn. In the end their "outsider AD" made the hire along with help from people like Bo Jackson, Quentin Riggins, Michelle McKenna, and Randy Campbell.

When you look at Harsin's first season there are 2 glaring WTF moments.

1. It took converting a 4th down play and some help from the SEC office to prevent Auburn from having their worst loss ever in the modern era

2. Auburn gave up 40 unanswered points on what would be their largest come from behind loss ever.

Now you look at Auburn's future. Malzahn did leave some talent at Auburn. But this Harsin guy can only get 6 wins out of them and his recruiting is much worse than Malzahn's. I see losing seasons for the next couple of years.

Auburn is fricked.

Auburn and Texas, when you replace your mediocre coach with something far far worse. Sometimes, you get exactly what you deserve.

Jay Jacobs is at Florida now. How's that working out for them?

I agree talent is not there and the look of getting some is bleak…..

Outside his first year, Gus loss at least 4 games (7 straight seasons). He never had a road win against Bama, UGA or LSU. It was time for a change.

Coaching is funny, I thought UF hit a home run with Mullen (Who I hate), but the could not get it done. Recruiting in Florida should be easy.

Can we give Harsin more than 1 year to decide his fate.

That's not how it works around here. Good thing we didn't feel the same about Tuberville in 99.

There's no part of me that doesn't believe firing Gus was the wrong thing to do. We needed a change. Harsin may or not be the answer but it's really hard to judge somebody on one year. If we did that Gus would be the 2nd best coach in the SEC.

I would like to give Harsin more than one year, but some mind blowing games this year.

IMO, every coach deserves four years at a minimum unless they are absolutely shitting the bed. I'll be curious to see if Harsin can pull some last-minute flips on signing day. There's playing time to be had on the plains. If he can't sell that, then yeah, he's in trouble.

The thing about Texas is, they keep Herman, and they could have had a NY6 bowl this year. They only fired him because they thought they could get Meyer.
