Because making the Final 4 is about equivalent to winning a NC in Football. In Basketball you earn your way to the Final 4 on the Court. As we have seen recently in football it can be a beauty contest. Definitely a more legit accomplishment.

Duke has done it twice in 15 years. We’ve now done it once in 5 years with Bruce. On average for 3 every 15 years. Auburn basketball > duke basketball. Don’t be jelly little bitch

Not even close. In basketball it includes every champion of all the leagues in the game. In Football's beauty contest, you have teams that do not even win their division trumping League Champions. If you had a football tournament of just conference champions you might have a legit point.

Winning a region and making the Final Four is a huge accomplishment. Anything that happens after that is gravy.
