Good job.

This kind of thread makes me hate BOTH fanbases.

All of you should be ashamed of yourselves.

maybe some but I doubt it'd be to this degree. I've never seen so many fans of rivals this hurt. Nick Saban is rude and is a known a-hole but I don't see 90% of the threads on here whining over what HE does.
Maybe cuz we're to busy having a celebration and being happy to be number 1

So sick of religion being used as a recruiting tool. Auburn coaching staff sure sounds like a cult to me:

Gene Chizik=Jim Jones

From the "Cult" Wikipedia page:

quote:

Studies performed by those who believe that some religious groups that do practice mind control have identified a number of key steps in coercive persuasion:

1. People are put in physical or emotionally distressing situations...

Christians: If you don't follow our beliefs, you will spend an eternity in hell when you die.

quote:

2. Their problems are reduced to one simple explanation, which is repeatedly emphasized...

Christians: Simply believe in our story, and you will avoid an eternity in hell and will be rewarded with eternal life.

quote:

3. They receive unconditional love, acceptance, and attention from a charismatic leader or group...

Christians: As long as you always agree with us, we will always have a place for you...

quote:

4. They get a new identity based on the group; They are subject to entrapment (isolation from friends, relatives and the mainstream culture) and their access to information is severely controlled.

Christians: You are now "saved!" But don't go reading and believing them science and history books! We wouldn't want you to adopt views contrary to ours!

LOL...I think Kyle is through being the starter here in Denver...Who knows for sure John Elway came in to save the team and first great thing he did was hire a .500 coach from the team who was the only one worse than Denver.

Edit: Who was FIRED by that last place team...I am so stoked

Bull shite. When Chizik bombs out after Malzahn and Cam leave him at the alter, you would want Saban in a heart beat.

I think you're missing the point. What he's saying is he would rather have a coach of integrity, dignity, loyalty, and selflessness. These qualities don't find Saban. While a good program builder, he is a piece of shite.

Is it as sick as making promises to a 17 year old kid and leading him and his family to believe you will take care of only to kick him off the team and out of school when he isn't as good as you thought he was at football to make room for someone else you will do the same thing to in a couple of years?

BOOM!
That's well said.

I'd give anything to have him in Chicago again. He's wasn't great, but with our D we didn't need great. I've been face-palming since the day Cutler got here.

Nobody would give a crap. Other teams fans don't obssess over a team that finished 4th in it's own division.

A coach prayed with recruits. Plural. The question to me, is "Why?"

What was he trying to accomplish?

It just seems an awful lot like a show to me.

Matthew 6:5 "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full."

I'm a teacher and coach. We pray with our team - who we're around for close to 5 hours a day between 4th block weight training, and then football practice - after every practice and before and after every game.

That's not the issue. I have NO problem with coaches praying with players who they've known for years in many cases - and in most cases spend a lot of time with them on a daily basis.

What I have a problem with is the show that he seems to be making out of it. If you want to pray with a recruit... fine. Take him into your office and pray with him, and then don't tell anyone else about it. Don't take all the recruits to midfield and put on a show.

I for one was glad Cutler left. he has tons of talent, but lacks leadership and the ability to put the team on his back and lead them to a win. He presses a lot and begins to make poor throws. He loses poise and thinks he is so good he can make impossible passes.

I don't think any fans were in attendance, FWIW. Did Trooper publicize it? Do you think maybe your dislike for AU has colored your perception of AU coaches (that you don't know) to where you are not approaching this rationally?
