OK plainsman...whatever floats your boat...you've got to admit your mascot identity affliction is quite humorous and actually rooted in your traditions....UNLIKE your stupid { stolen from Neb. } "corndog" comments which have NO basis what so ever !!!
Which makes more sense ??

This is their bitch:

From what I've heard, the dog is a higher rank than the cadets that take care of it.

except for none of them were actually mascots, just Aubie. Is that really that hard to comprehend.

And to be honest, baton rouge does smell like corn dogs

TAMU is a little obsessive with their dog. She's the highest ranking member of their Corps (she's a 5 diamond General).

Reveille is officially cared for by Corps of Cadets Company E-2, known as the "mascot company". A sophomore in the unit is designated the "mascot corporal" and has ultimate responsibility for her care. Reveille accompanies the mascot corporal everywhere, including to class and on dates.

Freshmen cadets are required to address her as "Miss Rev, ma'am." Reveille is the only canine on campus, other than service animals, who is permitted to enter any campus building.

Texas A&M maintains a cemetery on campus where all of the past Reveilles are buried. Reveilles I through IV were buried side-by-side in a small cemetery in front of Kyle Field with their noses and paws pointed so that they could look through the north tunnel and see the stadium scoreboard. This way, "they can always watch the Aggies outscore their opponent on the field."
In 1997, the university decided to expand Kyle Field and build the Bernard C. Richardson Zone at the north end of the stadium. This necessitated the removal of the cemetery. After meeting with representatives of the Traditions Council, Student Senate, and E-2, the athletic department decided to create a temporary cemetery across the street in Cain Park. Upon completion of the stadium addition in 1999, the graves were relocated to a permanent cemetery at the new, tree-lined Kyle Field Plaza. Due to the recent additions the gravesites' view of Kyle Field were blocked, a miniature scoreboard was constructed on the outside of the stadium so that the mascots can still watch the Aggies outscore their opponents.

i think its funny that A&M fans are trying to grow "some" and calling teams in the SEC gay, when they have all male cheerleaders or "Athletic Supporters" as im sure they prefer to be called. they refer to groups of themselves as "units", and worship a dog.

I say kill it with fire.

Up until the 1950s, Alabama would sometimes parade a pair of live elephant mascots around Tuscaloosa (and even on the field of Denny Stadium) on gameday such as this pair in the Quad in1945. The practice was suspended when caring for the animals became too expensive.
